Sony hate thread

Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Skylanders, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Guitar Hero, >Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Starcraft, Diablo, Geometry Wars it's small but I like it, and the behemoth that is Candy Crush if you want to count mobile. I don't even like Activision, but pretending they only have Call of Duty is profoundly retarded.
I said valuable for playstation, not dead IPs that would cost millions to revitalize, and unless they are already in production would take years to matter.
sony has plenty of dead IPs of their own, they don't need activision for that.

most of blizzard's IPs are also PC IPs, you really want nu-blizzard, under microsoft, to consolify a beloved RTS brand like starcraft? or try to castrate WoW even more that it's playable with a controller? candy crush and pretty much all of king is pretty much irrelevant for playstation too, as a console.

Pretty much GPU texture decompression. Seems like Nividia is just sticking their logo on an open standard feature of Vulkan/DX12. It will probably use even more Vram, in the world of Nvidia releasing cards with bare minimum Vram.

Game from almost 4 years ago obviously need this super fancy pants new technology to run at the best quality possible. Sure.

I love marketing babble.

Actually, Crash and Spyro aren't as relevant since the 2000s, while Skylanders died by the mid-2010s. Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk aren't as big as they used to be due to licensing issues and whathaveyou. Finally, Overwatch is as good as dead.
I think the remasters/Crash Bandicoot 4 has shown Crash and Spyro have a good following and will sell if you make something great. The issue is Vivendi made crap games after Sony lost the rights to those series. Geometry Wars is niche but you can get a lot of goodwill by appealing to those niches. Same with rhythm games if you don't flood the market like RB/GH did a decade ago.

I think there's a lot in the vault that could be brought back. Just depends on how Microsoft utilizes them and their studios. If they remove Bobby Kotick and let devs like High Moon, Vicarious Visions, Raven and all them make stuff that isn't just being a CoD support studio, that'd be pretty cool and what I'd want from this acquisition. If CoD really is being released every other year, that could free up some of the team to work on additional projects.

Microsoft’s focus is on Gamepass, gonna need a variety of genres to appeal to everyone, and I think those franchises would fit on it.

Sony’s port of Lisa: the Painful/Joyful has some 4Kids! level censoring going on.

The game came out on fucking Switch and didn’t require this, fyi.
PlayStation's already a platform for pedophiles, so I guess it makes sense they have to rename things that you need to be at least 21 to buy so the kids they molest don't feel left out.

God, I remember the days when Activision had Marvel licenses. I miss Treyarch being a Spider-Man studio so much. Raven's first Marvel Ultimate Alliance was phenomenal for the time. And High Moon, for all the flak the game got, made a pretty solid Deadpool game.

"Original Sony Seal of Quality" incoming, why the fuck was this necessary in any way? Why, of all games, LISA? I could somewhat understand (it still would be retarded to rename things instead of omitting them entirely, i know it's not really possible in LISA's case) it on a million dollar budget title because of muh children but LISA is niche as fuck.

LISA Definitive Edition is published by Serenity Forge, the same studio that published Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! which also got censored on Playstation systems. I assume the publisher was under SIE's target sight ever since then.

Also, you calling pills something else doesn't change that there's a lot of allusions and not exactly subtle to rape, parental abuse and substance abuse.

I never expected the day Sony would try and fag things up so much that it would reach these levels, yet here we are.

If you told gamers 20 years ago that Sony would end up being the more censorious platform-holder and Nintendo more lenient than them, they'd have laughed in your face.

I mean, in a way it's not surprising considering Nintendo would ok BMX XXX on their console with 100% glorious yabos while the PS2 would censor that shit.

Say what you want about Nintendo as a company, but they're very smart compared to Sony in terms of what games seem to be okay for the west.

This reads a lot like the announcement that The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth would be getting a censored Wii U/3DS port that gives Isaac a fig leaf to block his nudity, replaces God with Dog, and replaces all other religious references with Scientology.

Except that was an April Fools joke that was immediately followed by a real announcement of those ports, uncensored.
