Interesting to see Mick Lauer and Zach Hadel on the same project ever since Mick's "Power Move" moment some years back.

I liked the episode, it was very different than the others, I think it should be called a special and not episode 4, it focused on some characters I dont think will become part of the main cast. Very cool they were able to slam this out in the slated time frame, if they could get an episode out every 3 months, that would rock
Do you mind explaining the Power Move? I always assumed Sleepy Cabin split up do to them moving out of Philly or the such. Honestly, kinda seemed like Stamper and his degeneracy would of had a bigger impact.

I do rather enjoy the subtle design choice to have Rudolph's psychic powers come from a third eye in the center of his face.
The question does have to be asked though. Why wont hatemonger open his grill?!
Wrong again, heretic child. You can clearly see Hatemonger open his grill here in the very first episode:

Enjoy space prison. In space.
(Between Hatemonger's cock being fucked up and his Globules nearly being destroyed in ep 2, I think it's safe to assume that his face is similarly horribly deformed at this stage.)

Basically Zach's friend Chris O'neill (Oney) was dating a BPD woman named Veronica. They broke up and Mick, also an old newgrounds associate of Oney and Zach and presumed friend, swooped in to date or try to date Veronica. Basically that blew up on him and he had a falling out with a lot of old friends. At some sort of industry party later, some event happened between Chris and Mick, which Mick in voice messages to Veronica described as a power move. The Power move is question was Mick dominating Chris with a charismatic power handshake in front of the whole party, or wimply stuttering at chris some shit, depending on who you ask. After that, before any of this info came out publically, Zach was making "Power Moves" jokes on Oneyplays, enough to get it's own compilation.
According to a broad apology video released by Mick, this was caused by a worsening lifelong alcoholism issue. He appears to have been making inroads back to his old newgrounds friends and controlling his drinking This video gives a good rundown:

40k hobbyist Bricky played the second Misfit Psycho-Warrior on the Misfit planet that Rudolph's squad meets
Oh shit, I only know Bricky from Warframe stuff, so congrats to him. I know he has a podcast about WH40k, with another old Warframe guy, but still. Happy to see him.

I liked it definitely was an interesting shake up of the typical formula was also interesting to see the lore expanded in a couple new ways from the psychic mutation to misfit warriors. Good that they didn’t cave to the gay subversion trope and that they didn’t give the good guys a real conflict of morals.

Based off the reaction when Rudolph killed the Hologram by shooting at it's globules I think that attacking the globules is a major taboo for both psycho warriors on either side. That being said I hope that we'll see the misfits but with Rudolph leading them or Yukon serving as Commissar Commissioner for the Misfits. Speaking of I honestly hope to see the bored psycho warriors trying to wangle the AI into a Wile E Coyote deathtrap.

Heretical nigger spotted. Space King is giving you coal for Kingsmas, stalker child
I thought, besides joining in on the mockery of the "are we the baddies" sort of subversion in fiction, it's an obvious ref to this meme (which has had about a thousand other takeoffs and variations over the years) mocking a certain sort of media coverage

I'm just surprised Bricky joined in, Tom and Don are dangerously chudjecent as well as Zack and Bricky seemed like a shitlib from what I got from his videos.

Zach Hadel continues to be typecast.
Bros the second I heard that iconic nasal voice I started grinning like a kid on christmas
I don't understand the Internet's obsession with Zach Hadel. Do people really love Smiling Friends, OneyPlays, and/or psychicpebbles that much that they just now recognize Hadel's voice now?

Also, there is an animation error with the Globlus. Chestnut has it one scene when he shouldn’t.
There is also a sound error in the scene when Yukon uses Rudolph and Hermey as bait for the monster (12:53) where when Yukon pushed the duo off, there is literally no sound from Rudolph and Hermey being pushed or smacked in the ground. It just makes the push feel so weak and really disjointed from the scene.

I really think even though production of the episode was streamlined to be more efficient, this episode also felt rushed so it could be released on the 61st anniversary of the 1964 TV special film (December 6). I feel that once production is even more streamlined to take up less time to make an episode, we'll be seeing more errors. I do know Tom (who I heavily presumed is head writer) seems to be a perfectionist and gets really perturbed when the scene doesn't look nice or jokes don't land as they were supposed to, and he'll noticed it easily, and reinforce quality control with streamlined production.

but the main crew dynamic is missing for most of the episode so I think the writing quality will bounce back next episode.
Yea, I think this is the only missing thing. Seems like the only active character in this episode was Chestnut. Captain and Bryce had obvious roles in the first arc and was pushed aside heavily in the second arc. Hatemonger has no role in this episode at all. I know Tom and Don are insistent to start changing up the duos in future episodes, since they realized they overdid the Chestnut and Hatemonger duo. This episode was mainly touching the waters of a Bryce and Chestnut duo, despite being in such a limited state.

I think that is why it is more accurate to call this a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer parody under the guise of a Space King episode than a Space King episode that gives homage to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Honestly, they should have removed the cast of Rudolph and have their roles be played by the Reclaimer Squad instead. I can see Chestnut playing Rudolph and Bryce being a more assholish version of Hermey.

Game reviewer and publisher Mandalore played the first Misfit Psycho-Warrior on the Misfit planet that Rudolph's squad meets
I was wondering if Mandalore in the casting credits actually does refer to the game reviewer MandaloreGaming. Seems like he confirmed it itself.

Zach's nasally voice and cadence is pretty recognizable once you know what to listen for. It's kinda like how Patrick Warburton has a very particular way he always says "Yeah. Riiight." across all his characters.

I am so happy this show exists. Unfortunately I've probably spent too much money buying all the shirts and hoodies up to now, but I just can't stop. I LOVE SPACEKING. SPACEKING FOREVER!!!
