Almost as retarded as when in TNG they had the opportunity to destroy the Borg and refused to because it somehow counts as a species in their retarded ass minds. Picard is basically responsible for every sentient life assimilated from that point onward.

Why didn’t the Doctor just smoke the Dalek babies.

Because then there’s no show, I guess. No but seriously he meets baby Davros like three times and every time the Doctor is Space Gandhi. They don’t even do the lazy thing where it’s a "fixed point in time.” He's just like nah.

It doesn’t matter anyways, the Borg Queen (like Davros) got wiped from existence like four times already, she always returns and there's never any explanation.
Onto the episode where idiot Maquis crewmembers get mad at a hologram of Cardassian Mengele and would rather let Belanna die than use it. So you would rather your friend die and all the deaths from experimentation be for nothing than use the information? Also all the handwringing over killing the creature that is literally sucking he life energy out of your friend is so stupid.
VOY gets topical with these "alien hospital" stories. It's not a must-watch, but at least they tried.

Disease control can be traced to Tuskegee, we were doing insane gynecological experiments on Irish women straight off the boat, etc. The episode would’ve hit harder if the EMH realized his programming was full of Moset’s war-crime science. But that’s too much technobabble even for Star Trek, so they just make him delete the hologram.

David Clennon, I should say, is very good as a Cardassian. That uniquely irritating affability.:story:

Look man I hate woke shit as much as the next fella but Section 31 was a soft launch for an actual "starfleet kills people for good reasons” series and it also sucked ass.

The DS9 Section 31 episodes did far more - in a subtle and effective way - to illustrate that those guys weren't altogether nice chaps but for whom the ends often justified the means than the failed abortion that is that particular flavor of Kurtzman-Inspired-Dreck.

Consider:

What’s that other DS9 episode, the one with the Latin title? Sigint legit ahmyr macht frei or somethin'. Ross fakes his death. Bashir traces it all the way up the chain, like he's Sydney Bristow, and guess what. Ross was alive the whole time. He's in bed with Sloan and the Romulans? Bashir thinks this is insane. Ross just goes, “Put it in your peace pipe and smoke it.”

I like it when villains on Star Trek have their own logic about things.

Picard was ready to let a whole planet died until he and the others heard a little girl's voice asking for help. They're not above indirect genocide.

He was also ready to destroy the Borg until he met Hugh and realized they aren't mindless drones. They are capable of making choices and be independent. They can be saved as he was himself saved. This is one of their most human moments.

Actually it was not certain that method would work. Personally I find it ludicrous that the borg would fail for such a simple trick.

Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges.

>be Ross
>be in charge of a strategically important part of the front
>the Dominion has been kicking your shit in for almost 2 years now
>the only win in the entire war consisted of retaking DS9
>thanks to your aide de camp the Romulans are now in the war
>the Romulans are full of shit, tho
>develop a plan to keep them in the war
>execute it
>your buddy Sloan recruits Bashir to see it done
>it goes without a hitch
>finally, FINALLY we have a chance to win this
>the twink doctor whines and bitches about muh law and muh rules
>"listen here you little shit..."
>people call you a villain but not Sisko for murdering a Romulan senator

Thank you, Uncle Buck.

As if the Borg don't set multiple system restore points just in case they absorb bad data. Hugh's individuality counted as bad data that normally gets filtered out during the assimilation process, so they had to delete them.

Giamatti is the Tori Spelling of Star Trek.
It's disappointing he'd involve himself in this. Is he somehow an ardent Trekkie bamboozled by the idea of appearing in Trek enough to do literally anything, or has his career just dried up in general?

I wouldn't really blame him for the former, but it kind of sucks to sully such an otherwise illustrious career with this crap.

I'm just confused as to how that would even work, Quark isn't gay and Odo is goo.

Does he just tentacle rape his ear holes?
Remember the Odo/Quark slash art on Tumblr? I almost wish I'd saved some.
If anything gay is going to happen to a Star Trek character against his will, it'll be Quark. It happened to him twice (the one where a crossdressing female Ferengi kissed him, and the one where he got a sex change to seduce a soda executive).

That said, do we even know if Odo is male? He only looks like that because he's copying the Bajoran scientist who found him. If he had chosen to be female the whole time, it'd be the most natural ship on the show.

It's like how people say Draco Malfoy should've been female and the main love interest in the Harry Potter books.

Janeway is based in that episode. She just handwaves away all the whining and goes: "We'll deal with the ethical implications later."

I'm sure Shatner's actual opinion of new Trek should be funny to read. Funnier than the shows themselves.

I wonder why the Kurtzman era treated Shatner (and his Kirk) like crap. They always went out of their way to hide or remove his Kirk from the picture.
I still have the key art they used for their fake special day:

This is not even a good poster. The composition and the choice of pictures is so bad:

ENT, TOS, TOS, PRO, TNG, DIS, SNW, LD, VOY, DS9, VOY.

And Burman or whatever is her name is in the middle, but she's not looking forward. Picard does.

And, I don't want to sound mean, but what are Uhura and Seven doing there? I don't even know what that furry is.

Kirk goes in the middle. Flanked by TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT.
