That's just how Wookieepedia lays out all of its articles, always writing everything in past tense, which is one of the few things they still keep since the Disney buyout. A more interesting bit of info that came out about them was in the shitty new cash-in guide where its revealed that their armor and weapons are old and rusty and that their species and gender are unknown. Part of me wouldn't be surprised if JJ claims the Knights and Snoke are failed Palpatine clones working as his puppets to try and restore some meaning to their insignificant existances while also stealing another element from Dark Empire.

Well, Maleficent 2 bombed this weekend and Mulan is having a troubled production with major reshoots, so maybe once those two and EPIX bomb, Amazon would become a likely buyer for their portfolio.

Like I said, they should’ve looked beyond X-Men before Disney bought Fox.

Disney will not let that happen. They do whatever it takes to show a $1-billion or more opening weekend, fudge whatever numbers they have to, play whatever games they need to. They cannot afford to get a nose that bloody, that publically.

if you think they won't allow ep9 to fail, they will never get rid of star wars, or only when shit gets really really bad. selling it would be acknowledging that the did fuck all with it, everybody would see they didn't make their money back (unless they sell for a ridiculous sum, which given the current state is highly unlikely) and it would bit a much much bigger PR blunder then have ep9 bomb.

disney is also still banking on it pushing disney+, else they wouldn't pump 25 million per episode into the mandalorian (or at least that was the plan till galaxy edge interested almost no one).

they also have much less pull now than they did with TFA and even TLJ, scc is taking a look too so they can't fudge the numbers like they want to as easily.

What an amazingly well developed group of villains, Disney Star Wars is awesome.

Also is clear that Rian Johnson had no idea what to do with these guys at all. No ideas whatsoever for who any of these guys are, and even when he considered killing all of them he realized that’s too stupid even for him so they just don’t exist in the movie. Like so much of the new movies, these guys feel like something that was brought up and then relegated to being a tacked on afterthought, lost in the corporate design-by-committee planning of these movies.

Also lol at Ruin. Yeah, if only in his 2+ hour slog of a movie, there had been any room for a scene with th Knights of Ren. I mean, we just could not have covered it, what with the vital "Rey goes to Frog-Nun planet to achieve sweet fuck-all" subplot. Or the "Finn and Rose go to Space Monte Carlo to achieve sweet fuck-all" subplot. And let's not forget about the "Poe does not trust the WAAAMYN and achieves sweet fuck-all" subplot.

Dune 2020 is being done by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, The Arrival) and will probably treat the source material with a lot of respect. I personally think Dune is pretty much un-filmable but this will likely be the best stab anyone has taken at it so far.

I dont think you can do Dune justice as a single movie without cutting it to Ribbons or basically making a new story

They're doing it as two movies. The Sci-Fi channel miniseries seemed about the right length for it.

I'm surprised HBO or some other channel hasn't tried emulating Game of Thrones with it and doing the first 3 books over 4 or 5 10-hour seasons.
