Went to pirate it to give it a try.
Over 100 GB later and finding out I have to reboot in my Winblows 10 partition just to fucking play it, swiftly yeeted and deleted. All the old Bethseda bugs are still hanging around. Visually it looks like a total conversion for Fallout 4 with a few less features.
BTW - Nexus Mods has announced they'll remove any mod that removes choosing pronouns. Not only are they pandering to the troonfreaks, dissent and sanity are forcibly disallowed.

Speaking of Mods, there's some new shit on the matter.
1: There's an unproven but unsurprising claim on Steam Forums that Nexus Mods will remove any mods that try to depozz/unpozz the game by removing troon shit & nigs. This may actually be true considering the Spider-Man Pride Flag removal fuckery that happened. The Steam Forum post is now deleted, but you can find a google cache [A] & [GA] to confirm it's real.
2: There is still a way to depozz the game, the best modding site right now called Based Mods has only one Starfield mod rn called "No Blackkks" which removes all the trans flags & any non-story related Blacks.
3: This whole shebang is what you would call a Schrödinger's Propaganda. Very rarely do you see something "matter" & "not matter" at the same time. It's the thickest cloud of mass psychosis induced Cognitive Dissonance you can find.
4: Despite all the retardations & active dilations from Twittards & Redditors, The really funny thing about this whole situation is that while everyone is angry at normal people like Az about pronouns too much, they're all conveniently ignoring the inverse on Bethesda's end:
Makes you wonder if slapping pronoun selection in the character creator with no real impact on the rest of the game was just a cynical box ticking exercise so Bethesda/Zenimax/Microsoft could earn a few more of those sweet, sweet ESG points from Uncle Larry at Blackrock.

Not just no ruins but nobody there. As if there wouldn't be a shitload of ex-military or Richie-Rich bunkers, noblebrights trying to repair their ancestral Earth home or community, people salvaging cultural artifacts for their collection/museum, or even just people who never left because fuck you this is my home.
Their depiction of Earth even post-apocalypse is beyond lazy AF. Even major landscape features are very much hit-or-miss, one example being several hugeass mountain ranges are missing.
Not to mention the retards writing the plot failed to realize there would be a crapload of leftover infrastructure on the Moon - it would be THE logical step to 'bootstrap' humanity into the rest of the solar system by virtue of being the closest solid orbiting body.

I'm sure this has probably been beaten to death, but the whole "pronouns" nonsense is the worse example of this especially considering the person behind it. From what I understand, he did not bitch and moan about that sort of stuff before in Hogwarts Legacy or Baldurs Gate 3 which I believe he played (or at the least certainly heard about). I've also heard that the whole "rant" was pretty much a stunt, that is to say not that he doesn't believe what he's whining about, just that it was more important for him to be publically seen bitching and moaning about the "woke" crap in the game so that he could farm those hate clicks.
And before anyway says it, I'm well aware of what kind of crowd of people this guy hangs out with. They all effectively do the exact same thing from time to time. Worse yet, they continue to financially support the very thing they claim to hate.

Haven't played the game yet since I haven't had access to my PC. Usually don't mind Todd slop - the writing's never great but there's some good nuggets in there and I find the gameplay loop to be absorbing enough - but all the footage I've seen of this game makes it seem lifeless. Somehow improving the graphics has pushed it further into the uncanny valley than the fallout 3/Skyrim days. So until I get back to my PC to make a burner Xbox account to get a month of game pass
1) Does the game always looks like shit or if it's just during dialogue and standing around NPCs?
2) What is the main plot about?
3) As someone who actually kind of enjoyed the gunplay in Fallout 4, is it about the same or did they polish it up some more?
Also is there a modding site that's not pozzed like Nexus where I can download shit? Feel like someone is already making a mod to remove pronouns because of the controversy over the fat English guy

So I completed starfield. It's a 7/10 maybe a 6. For comparisons sake I played both fallout 4 and skyrim for an hour each after beating starfield. The difference is night and day. I feel that starfield overall is one step forward, two steps back and a step to the side. I was a massive Bethesda fan from morrowind to fallout 4. It's just sad. Not much else to say I suppose. We have all lived long enough to watch some of our favorite franchises and developers fall apart. Just my opinion, if some of you enjoy it that's great.

1) yeah it always looks like shit, even worse outside of cities since the colour grading obliterates all the black levels. There is a mod to fix this though, but the game is still ugly.
2) 2001 but written by Emil full of Reddit atheism with a bit of babies first Biblical allusion and some Mass Effect 1 sprinkled on top. I went into more details in my previous posts which are buried at this point
3) I did not play Fallout 4, but my brother who spent over 1k hours playing it says its as good as Fallout 4 with mods and that they fixed it. Don't know what that actually means since it looks the same to me, but maybe that means something to you.

1. Yes. Blame the piss filter.
2. You get space magic powers to be a Spaceborn and can multiverse jump to redo the game again while keeping your levels. You gain starborn powers by taking more artifacts.
3: It... it is very mediocre. It lacks VATS and doesn't have Skyrim's melee moves.
The combat so far is the most uninspiring thing I saw in Bethesday game. It feels like ME1 but without the companions and story.
Closest thing I can find to good is actually the space combat, and that is less good than Tie Fighter Win95.
The whole feel I got is that they wanted to add a lot of systems, so they added the barest minimum of each aspect to the game.
It could have been so much more, but I do rate it a 5 to 7 depending on your tastes, a solid servicable 6. The big sad is that if they just kept all the parts from F4 for guns, and added a techno wubba lubba magic system from Skyrim, and didn't make 90% of npcs the ugliest abbo-blacks you can find in Detroit, the game would have been worth the hype. And add Skyrim/F4's map and inventory system. They could have had techies instead of magic, like "Self Buff, Nitro Jetpack fuel" or "Overload circuits spell" or have a summoner class with drones. Like summon Machine Gun drone, flamethrower drone, missile launcher drone etc...

Yes. Robin pretty much sung Elianora's praises to Bethesda and helped her get a consultant role for Bethesda as well as work as a game dev for an indie studio. Didn't work out so well as Elianora got fired less then a year working for the indie dev due to being insufferable and, well, with Starfield we see how well her consultant advice was. After this I don't think any studio will take Robin or Nexus modders seriously. Damn shame as some of them are really talented but leave it to a horny, rich Anglo sticking his dick in BPD pussy to ruin it all for everyone. Tale as old as time.

Fucking hell, does no one at Beth do background checks or see what their activity was like at the nexus? Dark0ne must've sucked Todd off in an all-expense-paid trip to the Ritz because there's no way anyone sees Elianora's mods and puts them on the same level as GrilledTurkey or HcG x Grill, who IIRC also got jobs at Bethesda. Elianora's mods are basic bitch modelling that anyone with Maya and 12-30 hours to spare can learn. Good enough for free mods, but nowhere near enough to consider yourself ready for the big leagues.
I haven't heard of a popular fan site fucking up this bad since GTAForums and R*, lmao.

You're not alone in thinking that; I also had that exact same realisation a few days ago. Feels surreal seeing Joe have to quote tweet it and parade on twitter at someone getting overly angry at something in a video game, when he authored the infamous "I HAVE SEVEN DOLLARS IN MY WALLET EA" video because Battlefield 4 crashed while he was playing it.
Is there a good alternative? I know ModDB also said they'd take down an anti pride flag mod if it was uploaded, and I can't think of any other major modding site.
