Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Kinda mixed on my outlook for the game. On the one hand, Bethesda doesn't have that great of a recent track record. On the other hand, I'm seeing some good signs. I haven't seen any NPCs so far that look like freaks of nature so there's a fair chance it's not going to be completely trooned out for one. It also looks like they got a bit deeper with the conversation system which was something sorely needed in FO4. The game is probally going to be buggy as fuck though until months later when they finally patch a lot of shit out.

This is what I'm calling "The Starfield Stare"

I'm gonna pirate it or try it via game pass before eventually getting it at $20 or so a year from now.
Pirate it, then pirate the GOTY edition with all the DLC, then eventually if you must, when the BASE game is on sale for $3-5, buy that and dump the DLC ESMs in the game's folder. It worked for Skyrim and F4 and I have no reason to think Bethesda is going to fix this exploit since their DLCs are treated exactly like mods are by the game's logic and code.

Bethesda's passage of time has always operated on arrested development, Fallout 4 (and by extension 3) has a 200 year time skip and in that time nothing has been rebuilt (all the while cyborgs that pass as literal humans get introduced as a major plot point) with people opting to live in craters and bombed-out houses instead.

i get that Fallout is a post-apocalyptic genre and that it wouldn't be fitting for it to be post-post-apocalyptic and that i'm supposed to just consoom slop and not ask questions but you're really making it hard for me Todd.
They're not even cleaning out the skeletons and corpse juice of the broken beds they sleep in. It's one thing to be unable to rebuild due to lack of materials and/or skills, I can buy that, but come the fuck on. Doesn't have to be spotless just throw out the old bones.

They changed it slightly bc they deleted fo4s forks source and merged fo4 with 76. So it still basically works the same way but you may need a 3rd party launcher to force it to load it's own dlc es3's or whatever that new extension is.

I haven't seen the game yet so I'm guessing it followed 76's fork. If it didn't, im happy to be wrong bc that would be hilarious. (It would equate to them literally deleting fo4s fork to sell Skyrim again)

The current DLCs appear to be esm files. Keep in mind this game was in development since Fallout 4's release, if not before, and the engine's been patched heavily, so they're considering it "Creation Engine 2." So it's likely that 76 and Starfield's engines went along very different development paths.

Toss out the dead, sweep the floors up... not hard, people.

I wonder what the major consensus will be once the game fully releases on the 6th.

All I’ve seen so far are generally mixed, but overall positive responses to the game. Well, aside from /v/, where everyone is dog piling on it.

Red Dragon is literally one of the biggest Sony Ponies on the planet. You’ve got to be kidding me lmao.
Can't wait for the Crowbcat video
Like the Resident Evil 4 Remake video?

I'm more entertained by the crying about the IGN reviews than I am by the game.
You mean the LAUGHING at IGN for pulling another one of these?

Torrent done, loaded it up and got to the character creation. I guess I shouldn't have expected any from the usual ugly Bethesda creator, but damn.

While it was downloading I actually went and played some Black Desert for the first time in a shit ton of years. Man the character creation in that game blows out Bethesda so bad. Western devs need to go hire Koreans to show them how to make attractive characters. Or hell, even FFXIV characters look nicer. Go hire the Japs.

Who am I kidding though, it's all on purpose anyways. The game itself looks pretty good. Running on native 1600P with my 4080 laptop. Looks good on the mini LED screen.
