I'm really happy for the game success, it's been a long time since there was a new release that managed to suck me into a world and stuck the landing that well.

It's not a perfect game, but its flaws makes me nostalgic to the time in gaming it wasn't all globohomo products finetuned for normies. Definitely it deserves being a hit way more than any Final Fantasy game churned out by SE.

I liked this game a lot! I was never into Nier. I don't understand why people didn't raise this much outrage at character design for 2B (and the upskirt thing). Poor Eve just can't win. Anyway it was very fun. I like how, if you leave the game idle while she faces you, she will follow you if you move the camera. (Think Rouge in Sonic Heroes but better)

The funny thing is that I dare all the character design outrage mobs to try the og Ghost in the Shell manga and come back to me. And even then, that series has its own censorship issues.

The Nier thing was mainly Nier Automata (the first game was obscure to all but the biggest JRPG nerds).

Having never played it, but I think the upskirt thing was an achievement you got by trying to angle the camera low to look up her skirt. Meanwhile, you can make her self destruct and blow the skirt off entirely, exposing the leotard.

There's also an (easily-missable) item that lets you unequip the skirt, or do the opposite and lock its damage state.

And yeah she does a little annoyed sidestep away from the camera. It's subtle but it's just a cute gag because the game ordinarily has camera movement that deliberately avoids upskirt angles, so you get a laugh out of it the first time you try taking a peek by positioning her on a ledge or something.

The funniest part about Kaine being intersex to me is that Kaine being intersex is a defect. The real Kaine is a woman, but when her gestalt was made there was an error and she became intersex. Its not a magical wonderous inclusive thing. She's a freak, a mistake and doesn't fit in because she truly doesn't belong.
