I did realize that nowhere in this thread have we discussed any of the SU fandom that's confined to its own place, so I did a quick google search for "steven universe forum" and found http://thecrystalgems.com/. I don't have time right now to go looking through to see what kind of nonsense there may or may not be...

... But there is a chat on the front page that you don't need to be a member to see.

You know what I always thought was funny? He modeled her after Japanese women, being from the country himself and mostly being exposed to dark-skinned Japanese rather than black people. Yet the fandom automatically assumed that those differing racial traits must be white traits, exclusively.
