I think it mentioned somewhere that since it's an alternate history, people are more used to weird stuff. Like the ocean disappeared and they were just worried about the town instead of how impossible it was.I'm surprised Connie has to point out she's been doing magic stuff with Steven after a) the whole Alexandrite fiasco and b) everyone else in town knows that weird shit is linked to Steven and the Crystal Gems.
Apparently there's a Dragonball Z reference hidden in the latest episode that I didn't catch.

Good point. I mean it's a cartoon so oblivious people (especially adults) are gonna be kind of commonplace but then at the same time it posits some of this stuff in a more serious manner (like Connie's mom in general) which feels weird alongside them not recognizing fantasy shitI think it mentioned somewhere that since it's an alternate history, people are more used to weird stuff. I've never really cared about about how "progressive" things are in general but I realized shortly afterwards that Tumblr is probably going to have a field day with this.I really do like how the newest episode breaks down gender norms and shows Steven as a boy who is okay wearing a dress or skirt and being feminine but still identifying as male. He's always been very sure of who he is and I like that, no matter how much tumblr wants to claim otherwise.
Yeah, probably will bring back the "Steven is ~trans~ uwu" crap, but I didn't see it as progressive so much as being able to identify with Steven at that moment, not just in fixing a mistake made but also in being feminine and a guy. It's been something I've seen little of shown positively in the media.I've never really cared about about how "progressive" things are in general but I realized shortly afterwards that Tumblr is probably going to have a field day with this.
no surprise at all. These guys are bad at being heroes. I think there are some fictional villains who make better heroes than these chicksI'm still surprised the Crystal Gems always do the same mistakes over and over again.

Indeed. She is also much smaller without them. Like just a bit taller than Steven.
