Steven Universe - Now a Griefing Thread

Look at the homeworld kindergarden. There were two other symbols there along with the diamond authority symbol, one of which was larger than the diamond. There’s clearly something else out in space besides homeworld and the diamonds. I doubt we’re close to the end of anything.

Real Talk, the writing and pacing of the show has gotten so much tighter lately. The quality of episodes go up and down season by season, but I appreciate the efforts the crew make to making Steven Universe a better show. Not that Kiwi Farms is the best place to show that appreciation.

But hey, as long as I'm here anyway, here's an :autism: theory

There is a bigger threat like @Apoth42 is saying. But it's an alien force that's a loose allegory to the "Sneeple" Ronaldo keeps yelling about. Some mysterious race that made and manipulates the gems that only White Diamond knows about.

It make sense as a narrative. There's absolutely no reason why the diamonds would need a super weapon like the cluster, and it would justify homeworld's goal to colonize planets at the rate they are; it's to galvanize more gems and weapons for some far off war that raises the stakes for the show. White Diamond's secrecy would justify the other diamond's ignorance to what's happening .

And hell, it'll give Ronaldo actual importance as some crackpot foreshadowing device. Ive seen sillier ways the show foreshadows future events. Itll also be funny to see how the SU blogs react.

Fuck if I know if the show will end with White Diamond and end like shit though.

SU would be an interesting Space Opera:

The Gem Empire is but one of many Empires in the galaxy. It has expanded in one direction since time immemorial but for the last millennia the Solar System within the great Oort Cloud has been its fringe. The Empire is stable... too stable. No reforms, no innovations and no expansion. Just like the ancient Spartans of Earth the great Gems Empire maintains an old system with nothing but past glories to keep it a nation. For the last 1000 years the Gem Empire has been on its backfoot in its war against the Soy Collective, a Hivemind that strips all individuals of their freedom and individuality to feed. It has only been a super weapon called "The Cluster" that has been able to keep the Soy Collective at bay.

This all changes with the return of Pink Diamond. Under Pink Diamond the border comes to life as off-color and free-thinking gems flock to the new border region and birth a new society. Every taboo is broken and thousands of years of innovation happen in decades. A dynamic individualist economy forms and the skills of organic life from all over the galaxy is utilized to its fullest. A brilliant admiral from Earth abandons the suicidal tactics of the old order in favor of tactics that emphasize speed and evasiveness and the military improves as the skills of fusions, combinations of gems who have built a true bond, are utilized to their fullest.

The second death of Pink Diamond brings the Gem Federation to its knees but her rebirth promises a new golden age.

Dunno, I think we'll just get a season of Beach City human episodes with everybody being friends and coming to terms with things and be done with it.

I feel like Lapis' "I've felt worse" moment loses its potential coolness just because we still don't know her origin.
We’ve got enough context with being trapped in the mirror because they thought she was a Crystal Gem and the forced fusion with Jasper on a planet she hated at the time. But full context would be good too.

Also, I’m willing to bet that the only reason Peridot and Lapis got poofed was so they can get their “Crystal Gem” redesigns.

Yet another major conflict fixed by talking about feelings, being gay, and Steven getting a new power simply for the sake of them writing themselves out of a corner :c *sigh*
Still got a pretty rad fight out of it. And the mind thing isn’t too out of nowhere in that it mostly aligns with a lot of the mental powers he’s gained throughout the series.

Also, I just wanted an excuse to post this.

The world is saved by Greg fucking his dead wife's sisters.

Or mothers. It’s kinda hard to tell with them. Older sisters, at least.

Oh my god, Greg is basically a harem anime protagonist that never got his own show and instead settle as a supporting character in another.

Right, I agree that Lapis has a lot of context for being depressed, given what has been shown. I just think her character's behavior and the line itself allude heavily to what we still don't know.

My dash is full of people obsessively shlicking over the fact that Ruby is wearing a dress during the wedding, so can't be made male in the homophobic countries' dubs. Seriously, like three diffirent posts about it, reblogged multiple times.
Besides, it's not like it can't be written around with ease.
