Steven Universe - Now a Griefing Thread

I didn't like the last two episodes as much as the first one but they were still pretty damn good. I really want to know what the hell is going to happen because it one of the previews, it looks like Peridot is attacking the Crystal Gems. And if the last episode is any indication, she hasn't turned over a completely new leaf yet.

Lapis Lazuli is more deserving of being a Crystal Gem. At least she genuinely likes Steven.

Also, she did not imprison someone for millenia in a mirror to use as cheap computer and by sealing away Jasper did something more heroic than most of the Crystal Gems did past the war on earth.

peridot the crystal gem confirmed possibly. Maybe. Hopefully.

So, Yellow Diamond finally showed up in today's episode, and she's set up to be a an arrogant tyrant. Peridot tells her off, and the others declare her a crystal gem. I like that they seem to be going back on the whole "won't have villains" approach. Like I said before in this thread, that's a unique approach to a show, but without villains, a show gets pretty boring after a while. I think the creators seem to have realized this and are taking a step in the right direction.

I liked this episode! The interaction between Yellow Diamond and Peridot was fun to watch, and I must say that while I was rather expecting Peridot to eventually side with the Crystal Gems I was a little surprised that it happened like this. go peridot \o/

Great. The trigger face meme...
So Peridot is now officially the pet gem of the group, Lapislazuli may return sooner than later and behold, we finally saw our obvious villain who reminds me of Glenn Close for some reason.
Good. Can we now wrap up season 2 soon, do season 3 with the Diamonds starting a war and wrap this show up for good?

And personal assumption: turns out Lapis was a member of Blue Diamond's court millenia ago and plays a part for that someday down the line, cause Rebecca Sugar likes to torture the character.

So Peridot's a good guy... Eh, well at least this show is doing something right (besides Yellow Diamond being a cunt!) - she still sucks, though.
Fucking wuss - ass!

Maybe now something interesting can happen in this fucking overrated show.

This thread seems to contain a lot of reluctant fans. That or just a bunch of post baiting. Either way, meh.

Well, that new episode took a turn I wasn't expecting it to, and I loved it. The whole interaction between Peridot and <blank> was great.

I am more or less coming out of the closet and say how it is: I like some of the ideas SU tried to do as far as kids shows with semi magical girl characters wanted to do, but the execution is bad. Really bad. Rebecca Sugar tries too hard to be inclusive, the art direction is typical tumblr garbage, many characters end up sooner or later doing things that make them come off as idiots or despicable (I like flawed characters, but some of the characters in that show are smegheads) and the music is atrocious. You should only be allowed to play ukulele if you are a fat hawaiian singing "somewhere over the rainbow". Not to forget the unsubtle lesbian undertones where I think Garnet is the only thing done slightly right while the rest comes off as more creepy. I just want to see where this thing is heading at best and hope that when it is done, tumblr does what it does best and moves on to something else to obsess about because it panders to their interests.

I personally disagree, but that's cool. We both have our own opinions on the show.

Or, you know, the typical tumblr response of "triggered, how dare u, blah blah blah oppressed blah blah".

"coming out of the closet" is a good way to put this since you're basically announcing what a gigantic faggot you are.

I typically only watch the show whenever they actually do shit to move the plot along. I still won't watch anything from Season 1 before Lapis showed up, because it was too episodic and repetitive for my tastes. Steven Universe is one of those shows that's hit-and-miss for me. It's well-written when it wants to be, but then there are just some episodes that have too much generic kids' show bullshit.

I will say, though, that it becomes tough to really identify as a fan of this show when the fans are mainly known for sperging about gender and bullying people into attempting suicide because they don't like these peoples' fan art of the show.
