So not only is Peridot both fucking annoying & a major wuss - ass, she's pretty much full blown retarded. *Sigh* Why did I ever bother with this? WHY, WHY, WHY did I ever bother with this???

I assume the same reason why I gave the SW prequels a chance after episode I: You hoped for something tolerable down the line.
We both got disappointed.

Eh... Whatever. I still think this show is fucking overrated and I've seen better than this, to be honest.

Any reason you keep watching it then? Just curious, you really don't seem to like it and I... just don't really get the appeal of watching stuff that you dislike but that isn't so bad it's funny.

I can't speak for them, but people tend to do this because they want to give the show a fair chance before dismissing it. Of course, it all depends on what their limit is - a few episodes, or the whole series.

I felt this way at first too. As of now, I don't dislike SU or think it's bad, but I'm definitely not a hardcore fan.

I personally think it's a pretty cute concept--for children. Tumblr and the fandom in general just ruined it (like every Tumblr-based fandom does).

The recent episodes are pretty decent in my opinion. Peridot's one of my favorite characters, and whiny assbabies in the fandom are complaining about the Peridot x Garnet ship because WEH PERIDOT IS EVIL SHE CAN'T CHANGE WHATSOEVER.

On the topic of 'gemsonas', I'm surprised that people who have made male gemsonas haven't gotten any hate. Or maybe they have; I just haven't seen it yet.

Probably a sucker for punishment. I do it all the time, so I can assume this is it. Unless @Shokew is willing to explain it himself.

Not going to lie though, that probably has better animation than the show itself.

I find it weirder that Peridot's turn is highlighted by some as being so deep, when in reality it feels like villain redemption 101.

- Take a character who isn't as frightening as you initially thought is and humiliate her a bit more instead of making her become more threatening? Check.
- Turning the character more into a comic relief? Check.
- Whimsical excuse as for how she turns into a good one because the others treat her nice along the way? Check.
- Shitty jokes like she is a yaoi shipper now to "humanize" the character, when in reality just pandering to parts of the audience? Also check.

I don't think Peridot is the worst character I have seen in the show so far, but how she is any different from many joke villains/henchmen in other cartoons I don't really see. And the recent episodes are decent in so far as that something at least happened in the episodes.

I like the length of the episodes, but I wish they'd do 2 at a time. It sucks sitting down for some Steven Universe and pizza and having the show end before my pizza does.
It's something I appreciate and dislike about it. It's short enough that you can catch up easily but not long enough to be able to sit down with anything more than a snack.

It does seem to be the way more cartoons are made these days. I can appreciate it that it goes the people working on the show more time to polish and improve each episode, but the wait between episodes just feels so much longer.

I always thought the 10 minute episode concept works good for comedies, if the intend is to just see how much a funny idea can be milked. For something that is supposed to be more about story development, I think the 20 minute runtime is more appropriate.
