So much hate for Pearl. :( I just finished binge-watching the show and while I'm annoyed at Pearl's actions I also totally get them because I sympathize heavily with a lot of what she did/does or tries to do. Maybe that's why I cried at a couple episodes involving her no I'm not a 20 year old woman shut up you're wrong

I also like Lapis a lot. And Connie. (And especially Stevonnie.)

These are my thoughts and they are sleep deprived so do not expect anything better

Well, another Steven Bomb has come and gone, and I actually liked it. Pearl wasn't a fuckup in this episode. No more drama between the gems.

I can't believe how hooked I am on this show. But yeah. I'm glad that Pearl and Garnet sorted out their shit, but at the same time, I'm glad that it wasn't an issue that was solved in the episode it was raised in. I like how every problem that presents itself results in character growth for SOMEBODY.

Also, I had this stuck in my head all day and I felt like attempting it on ukulele. It's not the best vocals at the moment, but it's the first time I've really done it without majorly screwing up a chord progression. So here. :)

or if the automatically embedded player isn't working (flash issues) go to vocaroo.com and add "/i/s0U7CLFswYft"

It's a cover of Do It For Him, and the opening theme.

I think they really did a very good job with this resolution. Normally with these kinds of things apologies are exchanged and that's it, but they don't do that here. Pearl apologizes over and over again, but so long as she keeps making excuses for herself, nothing has changed. The problem that caused her to trick Garnet is still there: she's not confident in herself, she doesn't feel like she's strong enough on her own. She needed to be reminded how strong she really is (again... because she apparently forgot how she took down Sugilite by herself, the silly ditz) before anything could be resolved, and Garnet could trust her again.

StevenBomb is basically a huge spoiler, right? I'm trying to avoid it.

Yeah, you might want to just avoid this thread until you catch up. :P

Perhaps taking down a somewhat unstable fusion like Amethyst and Garnet is easier, or she rationalized it as easier, than taking down a more stable fusion like Garnet (Ruby and Sapphire) herself, despite the inherent strength boost of the Sugilite fusion?

As sweet as their relationship is, I thought the kissing scene between Ruby and Sapphire in Keystone Motel was a bit risqué. I half expected Sapphire to say "Not here, Steven's watching" (even though she already kinda did) and Ruby to reply with "I want him to watch." Then again, fusion dances have some definite sexual undertones to them as well.

Also, did you guys know that a bunch of fans left fake bad reviews for the actual Keystone Motel because of this episode? It got so bad that someone actually called them and apologized.

Those reviews seem to be gone now, thankfully. Last I checked people have been flooding it with positive reviews in their stead, which I don't know how to feel about. They're up to about 1,000 now.

I have a lot of respect for Matt Burnett. He's a no-nonsense kind of guy and doesn't take bullshit from these people when they're being stupid, and lets them know when they are. He seems pretty chill.

On the topic of the actual show, I am patiently waiting for my Sea Princess, Lapis Lazuli to return.
