Suggestion and Update Thread

Now that people are quoting OPs more often, there should be separate notifications for "Quotes your message" and "Quotes your OP". Seeing someone quote my OP isn't that useful, especially in A&N where I didn't usually write the text.

This make me think: what would be a neat feature to keep people from reposting the same image over and over in the images threads because they can't be bothered to read the last few posts before posting, is to make feature similar to the "Has this topic already been covered?" suggestions that come up when you start to make a new thread, but instead it uses an AI similar to reverse GIS that analyzes any image you upload to your post and looks for similar images in the same thread. If it finds a match it'll tell you and put the image side by side like Tineye.com does so you can compare the two images and decide if you're going to post it anyway. This may be completely infeasible or not worth the effort but it's just an idea I had.
I wonder how well it would handle the bread and butter: screenshots of text.

Also, exact copies site-wide could be weeded out with simple hashes, if the performance is ok. If XenForo is doing that, I'm not aware of it.

I really like the feature, it's super slick
it is indeed
Javascript is gay, I dont know what it does or why its installed and I'm going to randomly start killing it in task manager, then wonder why my PC wont work.
oh no… the JavaScript-worshipping satanic Silicon Valley elites finally got their hands on Null! next thing you know, threads are gonna have infinite scrolling instead of pages and we’re gonna start getting cookie pop-ups :cryblood:
so the 'farms is going to turn into a geocities site? suits me

There should be a feature that notifies banned users and a quick description on why they were permabanned with a short rotten tomatoes style blurb next to their username.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate it if there were an option to "watch" for featured content so that it appears in my update/alerts feed, which is the page that I always keep open in a tab on my browser. I refresh my alerts page regularly when I'm at my PC, but only open the home page in a new tab every so often. I'm sure many other kiwis likely do something similar.

I am not updating XenForo. I'm sorry but it's not happening.
Sorry for asking, I have no idea what changes to the site involve XenForo tinkering and which ones don't. I understand that XenForo shat the bed and that you're not dealing with their nonsense, I just don't know the difference between stuff like what I asked about and other things such as the recent update to the reply system. My apologies, I'm genuinely tech illiterate.

Stinkditch is a part of BP already. I gave one to the g*Rmans and it's rarely used. Who else is wanting it?
No idea, but BP chat tends to be talking about Chantal or another non-tranny cow (or it's just idle chitchat), and the audience for Stinkditch cows (or at least the ones that I follow) is distinct enough from the rest of BP I thought it could be worth a shot.

I like the new quote system; I was doing something truly autistic before.

However, I think it's not giving quote notifications. I have notifications on in case I get to engage in dialogue, and they're working as before, except when I am in a multiquote/had one line quoted. I assume that means the person quoting me used the new quote system.

Examples of posts where I was quoted in a multi-quote message and got no notification:

Obviously the solution on my end would be to stop drive-by posting about my favorite bakeware, so this isn't a critical issue.

That's not possible. The quote system doesn't work differently.

Huh. I reviewed the notifications and confirmed I am a dumbass regarding the second example I provided, but the first one about Pyrex stands. Maybe he ninja-edited my quote in.

...Actually, hey, it looks like both posts were made at the exact same minute so maybe that's it. Thank you for supporting my learning and growth.

I'd like to suggest for the site to eventually implement a button to view all replies to a particular comment ala chan boards. I've always been a big fan of that feature as it makes it a lot easier to follow a conversation when reading through older posts, especially in threads with a lot of activity.
