Suggestion and Update Thread

I'd be surprised if it hasn't been suggested already, but is there any way to prevent specific accounts from being tagged? Every time HHH or Lidl gets tagged, it derails whatever conversation is being had for multiple pages. I'm not suggesting the people being tagged get punished or lose privileges, but this shit has been a problem since forever.

It's generally considered cowardly and gay to insult someone without actually tagging them.

If retards can't manage not to spaz out like retards whenever someone who isn't even breaking the goddamn rules says something they don't agree with, it's the retards shitting up threads with that who should be banned.

I can't imagine it hasn't been asked frequently but checking the last few pages of this thread shows nothing. The featured content bloat is absurd. 17 stories now and depending on the resolution/zoom you're using it takes up the top 38 lines of the page with text with another 17 lines of spaces for a total of the first 55 lines of the site occupied.

My suggestions to fix it, if it is indeed something that you deem needs fixing, would be a way for users to uncheck a featured story showing up (probably hard to code?) or a more simple fix: micro-stories about unfollowed cows should be displayed for 1-3 days max instead of a week+.

Fuck me just in writing this an 18th story has been featured

Agree with this. Right now you can miss features just accidentally looking over them.
No need to add anything extra, just max it at 10, old ones disappear.
 
site layout is looking great and I like having a ton of community features, encourages checking out new threads. Its getting pretty big now though damn, its like a newsfeed. 10/10

Like username changes, have a yearly limit to avatar changes. Excessively changing your avatar is attention-seeking behavior and makes you a fag.

I suggest a limit of six: three for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, one to switch back on the first of the year, one for leeway when the preview fucks up, and one wildcard (Easter, Labor Day, doxing yourself on your birthday, etc).

Just wanted to say the featured content/community happenings thread is 10/10 @Null
It puts this forum/website miles above anything else I visit because everything is presented without pictures, so you actually have to read and I do actually favor the format currently where it seems like more gets featured rather than less, it definitely makes me aware of stuff I wouldn't usually be aware of and explore other sections of the website.

Logically given where we are, it would be more efficient to have a badge to indicate those who weren't.

And on that topic, I would like to propose that we change the colour of the dislike reaction to a warning-coded colour, perhaps orange or yellow. Sharing the same light blue as the Like reaction it lacks visual distinction and I believe this contributes to its lack of use. Disagree has a warning-coded colour and therefore carries much more visual weight.

Can we get the edit window for posts increased? PMs are only 5 minutes and regular posts are what, 10?
I realize there are issues with people playing fucky-wucky games or going on DFE sprees if you make the window too long or infinite, but a little longer wouldn't hurt. I'd like to be able to work on things in-place without spamming up the works.

PM's are 5 minutes, but poosts on the forum can be editted for hours afterwards, I've added shit to posts hours later.

As funny as it would be if it had been removed for just me, I don’t believe that happened. Were my thoughts and prayers taken into account? Is it actually being werked on?
 
i had considered it before but the featured page is so big it barely works anyways.
 
So, "Featured Content" has been yeeted? or just merged with Community Feature Submissions?
