From what they showed in the trailer Steve looks kind of jank right now, accurate to his source game but block placing looks like a nightmare to pull off right. I'll wait for the 45 minute presentation to really make any final judgment plus it could be because of covid they can't exactly polish him right now but he just doesn't look like my style so far.

TL;DR it was Joker, Hero, Steve, Hayabusa, and Doomguy. Normally this would be dismissed as a bullshit leak (and it flat out was once Banjo was revealed) but it did correctly predict Joker and Hero. The thing to note in particular is that the one thing we knew about CP7 was that it was supposed to be revealed for E3 but got delayed. Most of us assumed a Corona delay which is sensible, but this one directly said that Steve was supposed to be revealed at E3 2019.

Hayabusa and Doom Guy would fit in the more experimental movesets FP 2 seems to be going for.

It also fits with Reggie's comments about FP1 (the comments about new worlds, characters you wouldn't expect) back at the 2018 VGAs when he was still at NoA. Most people definitely wouldn't expect Steve or Doomguy.

Eh... There was a time where I would‘ve DESPISED Steve’s inclusion but after playing Minecraft for myself (thanks Null) that hatred has been lessened. I can only hope that Grotesque Steve stays in Tartarus where he belongs.

That said Steve looks like he’s going to be a pain to deal with, the only saving grace is that blocks seem to break down with time and that a meter is used for switching weapons or crafting them after they break.

First it was the Vault Boy from Fallout, now it’s Steve in Minecraft.
I remember a few years ago there were meme videos of Steve beating Mario in Smash.

I guess we really have gone full circle with this one.

Those aren’t Smash fans if they’re complaining about Steve being in here.
I can only imagine how’d they feel if, say, Conker from Conker’s Bad Day Fury was in Smash.
 
So if Ice Climbers caused issues in smash 4 for the 3ds and 8 player smash on wii u to where they got cut, how would an 8 player steve free for all be on a stage like great cave or even temple
 
The fact that the Minecraft stuff...looks exactly like it does in Minecraft is kind of disappointing. I get the looks are part of the Minecraft appeal but it makes the Minecraft additions look like they lack polish. I know "how would Minecraft even look in Smash" was a question thrown around ever since people thought of Steve being in the game, but the clashing artstyle made Steve look fake in a way.

Besides that the mechanics look interesting and it's cool they gave Minecraft a shoutout. The people mad that a game kids these days like is in only because "kids dum what they like = bad" instead of something they liked as kids are massive speds themselves. On the other hand the MINECRAFT GOOD FORTNITE BAD plebbitors are probably cooming themselves right now.

I hope Minecraft Steven and Alexandra and Zombie and Enderman (and more) take up individual slots on the roster to spite Fighter Pass fags for buying unknown characters.

The only thing I have to say about it is that they, like Minecraft itself, look like shit. Minecraft is an ugly game, regardless of how fun or interesting you find it. The artstyle is just atrocious. While Smash usually makes (human) characters look wonky and has design issues of its own, the ugliness of Minecraft really stands out next to the other characters.
