Bill Maher has been critical of Islam for a while. :powerlevel:It's why most of the radical libs in my family stopped watching him.Bill Maher is wrong about lots of things, but when he's right he's right
In the US, gun dealers are licensed by the federal government. People can be prevented from buying weapons if they have mental health problems or are guilty of serious crimes, but there is no specific prohibition for those on the terrorism watch list. There are currently about one million people on that list.
There are other ways to buy guns - at gun shows, or from a private vendor online - that do not require any background checks.
The Senate voted down legislation that would have closed a gun show loophole and expanded background checks to cover private sales.
Also rejected were:
- A bill to ban suspects on terrorism watch lists from buying guns
- A bill (backed by the NRA) that would allow the US attorney general to delay a gun purchase by a known or suspected terrorist, but prosecutors would need to convince a judge of the would-be-buyer's connection to terrorism within three days
- A bill that would alert the FBI to terrorism suspects who have purchased a gun, without blocking the purchase outright
What is so controversial about not allowing suspected terrorists to buy guns
I'm not a BAN ALL GUNS type of person, but holy fuck, are you serious? What is so controversial about not allowing suspected terrorists to buy guns??? Or even allowing them to buy guns but still alerting the FBI? I just don't get it.
Considering how many more people die every year due to gang violence, I move that we make a list and prevent every single African-American who wears either blue or red items of clothing on a similar list and prevent them to fully exercise their rights just in case.
They should see different clerics then.because of clerical errors.
What's so controversial about arresting suspected terrorists? If they're a suspect, arrest them. If there's no proof of a crime, leave them alone.
Some people are on the no fly list purely because they have common names, or just because of clerical errors.
Was just about to post this shit. You fucking morons....the inability to recognize your enemy will be the result of your demise. Keep putting the blame on the wrong folks and see how many will get your back when shit hits the fan. I welcome you idiots to go spread your gospel in the streets of IRAN.I can see why he gets so angry when the NYC LGBTQ community are pulling stunts like this:
It took Senator Ted Kennedy six fucking months to get removed from the no fly list. SIX MONTHS for a sitting Senator, and only after he spents three weeks literally annoying the shit out of the DHS head directly due to him being a senator and able to do that.
If you think anyone who gets put on that list is ever removed, you are kidding yourself. And if you think that list won't grow dramatically to include millions and millions of people (first step, gotta add people on anti-depressants or people with family members on anti-depressant) until basically no one can own a gun, you are downright retarded.
Okay, well, I didn't know all that. Still though, there must be some way to distinguish innocent people from people who are very likely to shoot up a public place.

Are there crimes about hoax mass shooting threats like there are for hoax bomb threats? This guy threatened on two separate occasions that he was going to shoot up his community college class. The FBI visited him and didn't press charges. There is a way, but they stopped investigating him for fears of being called anti-Muslim.
