They're made using cable crimps that can't crimp and fuses that don't blow at their specified failure current.
It just means that if American car manufacturers want to compete they need to make their cars more affordable. We're literally fostering a generation that would consider it a perk for their car to have a chance of burning them alive one day.

but always less efficient than lithium.
exactly, IIRC from the early days of reddit about the rise of EVs and EV advocates in general Lithium ion was just step 1 and more of a proof of concept whereas the next battery would be step 2 and magically fix all the problems which would lead to step 3 which is the death of the oil industry.

if you're enough of an autist to enjoy For All Mankind they say EV cars with batteries that are just as good as oil for energy would have emerged in the 1980s (along with cold fusion!) if we invested in science (and by science they mean immigrants, trannies, homos, and especially white women)

But in all honesty i'm amazed its been like 20 fucking years and we're still on lithium as the best source? especially when everything relies on it as a battery. if you want to be a trillionaire you need to get into that market.

I love reading Reddit and other forums about EV charging.
Just plug it in bro, it will only take a few hours.
I'm looking at an EV, that if I drive it my usual weekly trip of 120 miles it will use 1/4 of the battery, or about 50kWh.
A wall outlet will get that much power replaced in 34 hours.
Which means if I want to guarantee that if I get home from a long trip and want to be able to leave the next morning fully charged for some reason I need way more power. So, a new 100A circuit for an 80A charger has been installed.

Don't worry, I'll take pictures when my house catches on fire.

There was one near me that happened at like 5 in the morning. Undoubtedly they were charging the car overnight and then poof no house.

Hell, I'm wary enough when it comes to my small lithium polymer batteries I use for my drones. I cap all the contacts and make sure they're at storage voltage before leaving any unattended. That's then followed by storage in a fire proof bag. People don't respect or are not willing to learn about the real risks of the technologies they're using.

It's funny going from a year or so ago, when the wizard was declaring that he'd have to retire because of EVs and Tyler was confidently stating that they were the inevitable future, to whatever the hell this is. Maybe if Tesla spent less time making the car fart on command, they'd have better build quality.

The Car wizard and others like him are Reddit tier idiots.

The ONLY car repair channel that I can watch is the Car Care Nut.

All others are retards or click bait whores

The sheer amount of Chinese EVs being dumped in other countries, in addition to Chinese automakers opening up factories in places like Mexico, has gotten to the point that Europe started filing lawsuits against Chinese EV automakers for dumping (which won't do a damn thing to fix the issue), in addition to Biden raising the tariffs on Chinese EVs. At what point will Chinese automakers just go "Fuck it", and mass dump Chinese EVs in the US, despite the increased tariffs?

Not the US but all over Eastern Europe, Africa, SEA, and Latin America for sure.

The CCP EV push is to keep the Chinese EV and greater auto industry alive as domestic demand crashes

Glorious Chinese EV supremacy

I watched Hoovies Garage episode in thich he moaned that some ABS module is no longer made, can't be found on ebay and costs a grand from stealership.
I looked up the part number, and there it is 20 bucks on ebay. Fucking grifters.

Anyone know much about Tesla's sales drop and ensuing layoffs? I have no insights, just wondering if anyone here does.

Car Care Nut is great - only for Toyota and Lexus repairs. Seeing him bitch and moan about taking the door panel off the BMW Supra was painful. The design is dead simple and there's nothing difficult about it.

On my old Toyota truck, one bolt requires you to either disassemble most of the drive train or use six feet of extensions for the ratchet wrench. They're made for tiny hands that never touch them again.

I only remember that they are letting every tenth employee go, that is according to the internal memo Elon Relatable Cool CEO Musk sent out. I don't remember the figures for the drop in sales though. Tesla has been a huge bubble since the beginning, I feel sorry for the employees, but damn that is one hell of an overblown, overpromised shitstain of a company.

GM apparently thought that re-branding their GMC Hummer EV, making a few visual changes, to make it the Chevy Silverado EV, was a good idea, but some of the car's numbers are staggering, and that's not a good thing.

The 207 ft. 70-0 braking distance, the almost 9000 lb. curb weight, and the almost $100k price tag, is VERY asking for people to actually buy this overbloated monstrosity of an EV.
Mine should be here in a month or two.
There's no kill like overkill.

TBF GM is pretty well known for making a common frame/powerplant and telling all their 'brands' to come up with their own bodykits, they have done it this way for more than a decade now at least
