The term murder isn't confined to the legal definition.It's ironic how you don't see it. Removing life support, just like removing the fetus from the woman, is not murder.
The modern English word "murder" descends from the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) *mŕ̥-trom which meant "killing", a noun derived from PIE *mer- "to die".
Hence, one can say that "x murdered y" even if it wasn't an unlawful killing.
In this case, I'm free to say that abortion is murder, because it involves someone killing a human being. It may be lawful, it may not have a malicious, premeditated motive but it's still a killing. Hence it could still be called "a murder", because it's an act of killing.
