The Elder Scrolls

If this leak is real then I'll definitely play it but... I spent more time modding Oblivion, fucking around with load orders and Wrye Bash than actually playing the game. That's 90% of the nostalgia for me. If some of the amazing old school mods (like OOO, MMM, Midas Magic, and so on) aren't ported over by the community, or not supported at all, then I'm going to be pissed.

If the remake is in Unreal then that might cause some potential problems with porting anything.

I think Oblivion is a perfect candidate for a remake because it is a great game with massive flaws. The world, the exploration and (some of) the writing is awesome while the gameplay is janky, combat is awful and the leveling and progression is pure shit. If I could remotely trust the devs to remain true to the good while improving the bad I would be fairly hyped.

I am not on board with people who say the remake will be soulless unless the NPCs look like moon-faced cartoon characters and the bloom effects are cranked up to 11. Most people modded the shit out of the lighting and face designs at first opportunity back in the day. The worst mistake the devs could make would be to "fix" the radiant dialogue and bizarre NPC behaviour - that part is sacrosanct.

Oblivion has the superior lock picking system as it requires actual skill instead of luck and even if you hate it getting the skeleton key is extremely easy.
Lock picking is good but it pales in comparison to the superior Oblivion mini-game.

It's a UE5 game not a creation engine game so assuming it's not a hoax it's unlikely to have an extensive modding scene.

I've done a bit more research and apparently you need a nexus premium account or it'll take forever, which i'm not doing because fuck giving jewmods any money.
The best thing people could've done is get the lifetime before they removed it permanently due to unrestrained greed. It was pricey but far cheaper in the long run while also shitting on these jewnies by not paying monthly/yearly.
Absolutely fucking pathetic. Another centrist grifter to add to the pile.
Probably can't put him on the list but definitely keep an eye on him.

this is an honest to god iq test
Same with the lockpicking minigame, both Oblivion's and the pre-Starfucked, post-Oblivion Bethesda lockpicking minigames. In that they're incredibly simple and easy but because people can't brute force it like a retard it's considered difficult and whatnot. Speaking of retard:
Local brainlet gets filtered even when being HANDHELD by his audience, makes video crying about it.

Is Redguard even any good? I've always heard that it wasn't really worth playing and not a lot of people played it at release.
Its lore is good, and the writing is miles above Daggerfall. It was the first TES title with MK at the wheel for the world building and it shows. I don't remember the music at all.

It plays like absolute ass. Even back then. The gameplay of this thing is beyond fucked. And it's ugly. In short, no. It's a cool read/good video background but that's about it.

Fun fact: it also is the only TES media that has a tie-in comic. Nothing else related to TES has it, meanwhile even Fallout has a comic miniseries for New Vegas.

Oblivion's my favorite Elder Scrolls game, so I hope one of the things the remake keeps is the sorta... Sandbox feel of it all? I dont know exactly how to describe it but I fear it will just be "Skyblivion" and not just a Remade Oblivion.

Also kills the notion of TES6 for the foreseeable future.
