The General Thread

Dammit, my USB mouse just crapped out on me. Now I have to use the laptop's touchpad.

I'm about to watch the first Scary Movie. Wish me luck.
Also, as a guy who knows pretty much nothing about pop culture from 2000, how many jokes in this movie am I not going to get?
EDIT: "Jokes."

None of it. Which really sucks for you because I get to sit here understanding the entire movie while you suffer.

I just finished it.

It was horrible. I don't think I've seen anything so unfunny in my life. Admittedly, there was about five or six good jokes, but everything else was fucking cancer fuel. I only got a few of the references, due to how dated this piece of shit was. I regret ever watching this.
Fuck, and I'm seeing the fifth one with my friend tomorrow. If it's actually worse than the others, then I dread tomorrow.
I have to go see a real scary movie now.

you should watch it just so you can see Charlie Sheen continue to shit on his career

Well, I just saw Scary Movie 2. It wasn't as bad as the first one, but it was still really bad. It had a few more funny jokes than the first one, and a somewhat better plot. I know that the plot is just that of some other movie, but I haven't seen the source material, so I don't know what it is. One thing that bothered me was that there was this one part in the movie where it was revealed that Cindy looks just like the ghost's old wife. While that could've been interesting, it doesn't go anywhere, other than her becoming possessed and reenacting a memory of the ghost's wife or something. I know the movie isn't supposed to be taken seriously, but come on. That wasn't the only thing in there that was unexplained, though. The thing that really pisses me off though, is that three characters who clearly died in the first movie (Ray, Brenda, and Shorty) apparently lived. They obviously died! What the fuck?
I guess it's on to the third one. I'm gonna get through these things, dammit.

Spoiler alert, the characters always return in the next movie

part 3 is when zucker and proft take over for the wayanses

kind of a humor change but you do get leslie nielsen

Okay, things are getting pretty crazy where I live. Major flooding is in the forecast, and my small town will be right in the middle of it. My house will most likely be safe, but alot of my friends have already had to evacuate because they live in the low-lying parts of town. This is the biggest thing to happen to this town since the 1906 flood. I'm scared shitless right now and I hope everyone I know is okay. The traffic is at a standstill and there is news and emergency vehicles everywhere and everyone is getting sandbags to protect their homes. The Red Cross has even been called in. I might lose power, so if I'm gone that's why.

Well, Scary Movie 3 was MUCH better than the last two. While the last two only had a few funny jokes, this one was more hit-or-miss with the jokes. It wasn't incredibly funny, but it was okay. There was also less random pop-culture references this time around, aside from two Matrix jokes and the plot being a mashup of The Ring and Signs. There was probably more references, but once again, it's too dated for me to get them. My biggest gripe with the movie is George. His shtick is that he screws up everything he does. Also, I forgot to mention that Anna Faris isn't a good actor.
On to four. Lets hope they're just getting better.
EDIT: I forgot to mention how they cut down on the terrible sex jokes.
