so this will be based on if neo took the blue pill right?
Speed Racer was ok.
In this reboot, Neo takes the honk pill.
I have almost microscopically low expectations for this movie to not be trash
It will be terrible, I'm sure. The Wachowskis are talented writer/directors, but they have always let their weird shit infect and compromise their work (remember the rave scene in Reloaded?) and they're both getting weirder over time. I didn't even bother giving Sense8 a try.
And their adaption of Cloud Atlas was actually kind of genius but you only get that if you know the source.
Cloud atlas is a book divided into a series of flashbacks and flash forwards.
So the Sibs broke those flashbacks and forwards into smaller scenes and reorganized them to tell their own story [while still being the same story as the book]
Yes, only the bluepill is the correct answer.Isn't that real life now?

Yeah, I’m not enthused by this news. The Trilogy ended pretty definitively, so they’re really going to be grasping at straws with this one.
You know what would be interesting? If they went back and did the sequels over again. Sure, they could just screw it up even worse than they did before and it would set a rather uncomfortable precedent for filmmakers, but I’d at least respect them for trying. None of the main cast look like they’ve aged a day since the first film was made (Keanu’s agelessness is a meme at this point), so you wouldn’t even have an issue on the casting front.
I’m not particularly attached to this franchise though, so I don’t really care what happens. The first Matrix was a decent action movie with delusions of grandeur. None of the philosophical ideas it presented were as new or groundbreaking as people said they were at the time, but it was entertaining enough. The sequels were just a load of rubbish. Reloaded has its moments, and some of the action scenes in Revolutions are superficially fun, but I find them both to be dull nonsense for the most part. So yeah, no real desire to check this out.
Also the Machine ambassador's comment at the end about "the flesh is only a vessel" is kind of interesting in light of both of the Wachowskis since becoming trans.
It explains a lot, doesn't it?
Of course, our bodies are not merely vessels, they *are* us. There's no real dichotomy between the flesh and the mind, consciousness is an emergent property of human biology and can't be abstracted or virtualized like a computer program.
Troonism is an extreme manifestation of a horribly wrong idea of what the self is, and it's not a coinkydink that a disproportionate percentage of people with mental health and sexual identity pathologies are also science fiction fans.
Cringe. U fail!It apes off huge swatches of Cyberpunk shit.
Wrong. You fail.Flesh, Mind, and Spirit is a WESTERN construction
