Where his number two options were Anderson fucking Verejao and Ilgauskas? Ten finals appearances. That he won a championship for the Cavs coming back 3-1 against one of the best teams in NBA history? You're aware Tom Brady and other long term QBs are also top in some negative statistics because of how long they played? The idea that he's some overrated media construction is fucking retarded. Well, you've got to admit the guy does himself no favors. I told my LeRon nut hugging best friend who didn't grow up watching Jordan and 90's basketball like I did that he and his fans are what Ronaldo and his fans are to Messi and the game of football. Them and Lebron himself feel the constant need to put down others to elevate him and there's this obsessive need for validation and adulation. And this is even before he decided he wanted to become an armchair political analyst and online slacktivist and wade into those waters when that doesn't wash with the greater public. America is about the worst place on Earth to do this because you immediately turn off a fraction of your audience, your legacy takes a hit, and you become subject to greater scrutiny. Lebron was my 3rd favorite player ever for the longest time (behind Jordan, then Pierce), loved him, could do no wrong, then he showed his true colors from 2010 onwards. I still think he's the 2nd best player ever as do many others, and you would think that would be enough to not cry on podcasts and have your water carriers shit on those who paved the way for this era of primadonna's, but I guess not.
To put a bow on it: He's a flopping career crybaby who ring chased while denouncing rInG cUlTuRe towards the end of his career when it became apparent 6 was never going to happen let alone 5. Turned his back on his teams when times got tough and thought he'd fancy himself the moral beacon of the 21st century. He's also overseen the weakest era viewership wise (ala his whole career) and he's the poster child for the prototypical modern NBA player: self-serving egoist with a PhD in coping & sneeding. He also decided to push his weight and influence around to force his bum ass son into the league thus taking opportunities away from those more deserving. Fuck em, the NBA will be better off when the Prince of Disney World decides to finally fuck off and quit stat-padding.

Beating the young Thunder squad with Durant, Westbrook and Harden is not nearly as impressive when you yourself have a stacked team. At beats it was an even contest unlike the shitshow in 2012. Also that old Spurs squad and young Kawhi defeat this very same Heat team and sent LeXing back to the Cavs after they got 3 first round picks in 4 years.
The LeBum media complex is an interesting one, for years we have had this astroturfed Goat campaign where ever single paid Klutch sports cuck bent over backwards to argue LeBron over MJ. After 23 years of jumping teams and maximizing his championship window he STILL came up short and he we still have to hear hacks spin everything to clean his image. I feel like we are being completely gaslit about LeBron's supposed 10+ point streak. It literally only works if you arbitrarily disregard playoff games, and I see no reason why we should. He infamously scored 8 points in the finals and yet all we have heard about this past week is how insane it is that he scored 10 points in 15,000 straight games or whatever it is. I just hate-watched JxmyHighroller's video about it and in 10+ minutes he never once mentioned that the streak disregards playoff games.
I am not a LeBron hater by any means but Christ he is the most astroturfed athlete in America.

It's one of the more ridiculous arguments people make when they search for scraps for their case. If this were being litigated as a criminal case, longevity would be evidence that gets thrown out for lack of foundation. Why doesn't Vince Carter get more love? Can he get a spot in the NBA 100 when we do the next quarter century all time team? Solely because he decided to wobble his pudgy ass onto the court just cause he still could? If anything I find it incredible and a testament to Jordan's unassailable status how Lebron has only surpassed him in some stat categories only because he played an additional 5-10 seasons in order to do so. Maybe he can finally pass him on the steals list too, though that might take him 6 or 7 more seasons. Over 500 more regular season games played than Jordan, over 100 more playoff games played than Jordan, and still hasn't matched some of MJ's achievements. Man alive give me a fucking break.

Just use Kareem for example. He the previously leader in longevity and all time scoring, but nobody called him the goat because he had 6 mvps and 6 rings. It wasn't until LeBron dominated those metrics that it became important to being the goat. You can also tell because in 2016 after he beat the warriors and was only 32, people assumed he would at least win a couple more rings so the longevity stats were no where to be seen when he was preemptively called the Goat.

2008 was him and mostly the same roster from 2007 taking the KG Big 3 Celtics to 7 games somehow, I'll give him a pass for that. 2009 was the first time the analytics nerds finally got their big win in the NBA, where a team of Dwight Howard and a bunch of shooters playing smart, modern basketball beat a team with a vastly superior best player. 2010 is the real stinker. That was against an older Big 3 Celtics with a washed KG after his knee injury the year prior. I still 100% believe the all-but confirmed rumors that Delonte West was fucking LeBron's mom. Looking back on it, Gloria James is the slut fantasy. That skank's been spreading her legs since her 14th birthday, lucked into giving birth a boy so talented that she was living high off college bribe money by the time LeBron was 15, and still betrayed him by sleeping with his teammates knowing well the chaos it sowed. That whore's extremely lucky LeBron didn't put her back on the streets where she belongs after that.
Glad to see him turn it around, that first year was making my proclamations that he was the best player in the class look really dumb.

For day-to-day basketball stories, I like TheFlightMike, who specifically brought up in his video that the streak didn't actually include the playoffs.
Vince Carter gets an incredible amount of love from people who actually watch the games. But you're right, the talking heads do not bring him up because he stopped being a real factor after like his age-33 season and then just fucked around for another decade. LeBron has been the main piece of every team he's been on until Luka showed up, from 19 to 40 years old, and some of those teams were very good. Maybe not so much the Cleveland ones, but I don't think anyone would deny he was still the best of the three for the Heat, either.
The Delonte thing is absolutely one of the greatest NBA lore stories of all time. I never get tired of thinking about it. Delonte has gone on to become a homeless junky who occasionally shows up in viral videos nodding off on the sides of roads, a true chef's kiss detail.
