Nico Harrison should never be allowed s y position of power in the NBA ever again. There should be some sort of lifetime ban for how badly he fucked the Mavericks for no reason. It was such a stupid trade that I can only believe it was tbe league conspiring to build up LA for ratings.

They could have gotten offers from 29 teams and probably got each team's best player and then some in return, and Fatty gets dealt to the Lakers of all teams for a walking glass skeleton? He should be brought up on whatever charges Awful Coaching decides on and tried in a kangaroo court.

that theory of the NBA wanting a Vegas team is ringing truer each day.

My (former) team getting more from a Glass man than Luka all but confirms that the league conspired with the Lakers to once again give them the best player to up the ratings.

Am I mad at Nico + the League? Sure but this shitshow began with Mark fucking Cuban.

That Fucker wasted Dirk's years after the Championship run then lucked into another Generational Euro only to sell the team to a group who wanted to get into the Texas Gambling scene; which might not happen btw; thus the new ownership allowed Nico to trade away the best player to LA.

That hurt Mark's Fee-Fees since he thought he would still have say about the team which meant he would have veto'ed the trade. It came out that he didn't get that in writing lollololollololololololololololololololololol.

In a drunken rage he went to twitter to spurg out and blame the fans and wrote that he was losing millions each year running the team. People REALLY did not like to read that because it was Mark who was too busy filming Shark Tank to even have contract talks face to face. That was the main reason Jalen Brunson left if y'all didn't know.

Idk what he was expecting selling the teams to the most disgustingly stereotypical Jews on Earth. Fuck those kikes for trying to shove their casinos into Texas to bleed us dry and send all the money to Israel.

Speaking of the Pistons, theres a big shake up in the Michigan regional sports market. The MLB has entered a deal with Illitch sports and entertainment to broadcast both the Red Wings and the Tigers. So where does this leave the Pistons? They could win a championship this year, so will FanDuel keep them? Will they get out of the regional sports broadcast game all together in Michigan. Will there be a bidding war for the Pistons rights? Will Goku ever find the Dragon Balls? Find out next time on...

DRAGON BALL Z!!!

Several leaks of a group chat have shown KD talking shit on a burner Xitter account. Here's some highlights:

People have been calling him the KDF for that last one :story:

I'm surprised he made another burner, considering the backlash of the last one.

And as much as Silver and "influencers" are making a big deal of punishing tanking teams, I will give the unpopular opinion that tanking isn't bad.

I think it's an overstated complaint. Multi year tank jobs like the Sixers process shouldn't be encouraged, but this year it's what, four teams? Kings, Wizards, Pacers, Jazz. The Kings and Wizards just suck for regular reasons, the Pacers have their main guy out for the season on an injury, and while the Jazz doing stuff like pulling their starters to throw a game is pretty flagrant remember that they have a first round pick which is protected if they're one of the worst teams in the league, and if they're not it goes to OKC. Add in that this upcoming draft is supposed to be excellent and it's arguably anti-competitive for them not to tank.

The only solution to tanking I can think of is to reverse the NBA lottery ie. the worst teams get the lowest chance of the no. 1 pick and the teams just out of the playoffs get the best chance. The problem is you will get badly-run teams which get stuck down in the doldrums permanently because they can't build through the draft. But that kind of happens anyway because a lolcow franchise like Sacramento or Charlotte will make bad draft choices even given the number one pick repeatedly. So I dunno, the problem in the NBA is not tanking per se, it is that certain franchises just suck because they are badly run and the NBA never steps in to put pressure on the ownership or management. Nor is there a promotion/relegation system like European leagues tend to have. I don't know what you can do about it without the league overstepping its bounds in taking control of teams.

In unrelated news, was the all-star game actually good for a change? I haven't watched the ASG since 2009.

I was going to say that the way American sports are set up lends itself to tanking. It doesn't matter what they attempt to do. Reverse picks in the 2nd round so the 1st overall pick picks last second round, won't matter, they still have the 1st. Lower the percentage chance you have for a high pick, doesn't matter, it's still worth the risk. When there's no way you can get booted from the league, when you lose nothing for tanking because fans will still show up, buy merch, pack arenas, etc., you have no recourse to "fix" a "problem". There's no real "punishment" that can be doled out outside of something ethically dubious which the NBA would never touch.

It's because just like in all big 4 sports, the commissioner and the league itself exist in service to the owners so their primary objective is to improve the owners' margins. It's more flagrant in the MLB and if you know about the relocation shenanigans that happened there in the 20th century due to the Yankees' top brass being the de facto leader of the AL, you know this shit applies to the rest of the leagues too.

If the Pirates' Bob Nutting or the Pelicans' Gayle Benson are satisfied in turning a profit by spending the least, the commissioner can't do anything unless they are actively harming the bottomline of other owners and the entire league. There are enough good teams around to let some teams tailspin perpetually. In an ideal world, the smaller market owners in the Big 4 leagues would be savvy moneyball masters that dig diamonds out of under-the-radar prospects like the Tampa Bay Rays do in the MLB but that's not the case.

Haven't watched but I've heard it was way better and even came down to the wire this time. I'm not gonna get my hopes up but from the widespread consensus, I can guess it'll be watchable at the very least.

I mean what's the alternative go .500 and be in 8th seed purgatory like my Heat are. Rather tank. Just hate that its nor like the nfl bc the lottery is soooo rigged.

I'm kind of surprised at how many decent free agents end up in Miami, considering the shitty (non) negotiation tactics of Pat Riley. I suppose it's just gonna be a purgatory for good players before getting max money somewhere else.

I think it's because NBA players are attracted to the city of Miami itself, they will put up with Pat Riley in exchange for unlimited access to fat arsed instagram models and world-class strip clubs

Don't forget no income tax in Florida. It's why boring franchises like the Rockets somehow continue to attract big names. Miami definitely has more going for it than just lack of income tax though, tbf.
