Double posting, since I can't auto-quote in an edited post: Not sure if Watson and his camp have to agree. This is an agreement to avoid having Goodell issue a decision on Watson's suspension himself, as the NFL appealed to him directly. Its the NFLPA that was negotiating, not Watson's camp. If Watson's camp does have to agree, they would be stupid not to, considering that the alternative is potentially being suspended for a whole year, or longer (since the NFL wants an indefinite suspension, that lasts at least a year).

Edit: Apparently, its official now. Watson is suspended for 11 games this year.
I figured the Watson camp would accept the deal. I don't think the hold up was the team mulling over the decision. Probably more of just alerting those who needed to know and getting an "off the record" approval for the deal to go through

It looks like Watson will be back for the Browns game against the Texans

Dan Campbell and the Lions remind me of my high school coach in the best way. I really hope they can buck the trend there.

As an unrelated aside I fucking hate that shitty era Metallica is now old enough to be nostalgic.
As as very #based and redpilled Packers fan, I will be legitimately upset if Lions ownership manages to fuck this up. I really hope that Dan Campbell is/can be halfway competent regarding gameday playcalling because he seems to be an incredible coach outside of that. Plus this is the first coaching staff where I can easily say "Oh yeah, I remember that guy when he played".
There's a reason that two generational talents that played for Detroit and retired early. If I were a Lion's fan you better hope to god Sheila Ford Hamp doesn't follow in her predecessors steps. (I have no idea if she's been good/bad as of yet but I think she was heavily involved with Matt Patricia being hired.)

The Vikings are dropping off and the Bears are utterly incompetent. It would be nice to have another rivalry for the NFC North. I think it was 3 years ago when the Vikings were close to it. Made the christmas time game in Minnesota so much fun when Za'Darius Smith sacked Cousins at the end on a 4 man rush. The deflation from Vikings fans was only possible because they were good

Why the fuck is Nathan Peterman still getting any kind of work in the NFL?
It seems he was snatched up as a Free Agent after being let go by the Raiders. Chicago is a disaster and with their offensive line, its probably a good idea to have a body that can be easily injured during blow out games so Justin Fields doesn't have to get beat up too badly

Goodell/the ownership's group greed for ratings is utterly shameless.
It's the perfect outcome for the NFL so I was somewhat expecting this to be the final outcome.

1. Potentially allows them to shove blame onto the NFLPA for wanting more lenient terms than they did.
2. Keeps the Browns out of the playoffs cause that would be a media feeding frenzy with Watson around
3. Bitchslaps the Haslams for bringing this drama to the league, 'cause his contract is going to advance normally instead of being delayed for a year like if he got suspended for a whole season.
4. Gives them the ratings for the Browns vs. Texans game.

Goodell's trash but he's scarily good at what he does.

Watching Ian Book play is the purest form of suffering :suffering:
My God, tell me about it. The first test of our new coach: letting Book go. I can see them keeping him around for the third game just so they don't have to play Winston or Dalton, but after that, let him go.

Dolphins fans acting like Tua isn’t a worse Ryan Tannehill with a noodle arm. This season is going to be hilarious especially with that nerd as hc.

He's not great but it was weird seeing him blamed for shit last season that wasn't even his fault. If you take a blind side sack 1.5s after the snap then, uh, your O-line probably fell asleep.

We'll see what happens this season since he has an actual competent team now.

He’s also made of glass and literally can’t throw the football without looking like a retard. My mom, die hard dolphins fan, is convinced he’s autistic or has some sort of development disability. He’s going to be out of the league next year. I just lol at the dolphins since they’re always a hilarious dumpster fire.

Dude got beat with a belt by his dad because he was right-handed and his dad wanted him to be a lefty, so that's what he was trained as.

Yeah I'm fairly sure that will fuck a nigga up.

Saints had a good preseason game. Despite the fact that they lost. People need to remember that the point of these games is not to win but to 1) Get new talent acclimated to the system, and 2) decide who's going to actually make the roster. Andy Dalton all but cemented that he's the Saints go to back up by putting on an offensive clinic, and might even be able to carry the team if Winston gets hurt again. Ian Book was a mess, and the Saints may just end up rolling with only two quarterbacks this year if he doesn't shape up. Trevor Penning showed that he needed work, but our main guy at his position played solidly, so no biggie. Chase Hansen, despite only having been picked up last week, made a statement, so he's probably making the team, while Tre'Quan Smith continues to not live up to expectations, and may not make the team. All in all, despite inconsistent play from Book, the Saints could have still won that game.
How is Book even on a NFL team?

It's funny listening to leftists like Rich Eisen complain because it wasn't enough while the left is all about having unions to protect the workers and here the union did it's job.

Holy shit, is that real?

To this day, Alabama's true freshman quarterback does everything but throw a football with his right arm. Dad just wanted another lefty to throw the ball when son was about three or four.

It stuck.

"It just became fluent and he just grew into it," Galu Tagovailoa told AL.com. "That's the crazy part about it. I never thought I could make him adapt to that. As we constantly kept putting the ball on his left hand, eventually he grew into throwing the ball with his left."

lolomgwtfbbq. Poor kid.

The funniest youtube videos are Rich Eisen talking to Mike Florio for their segments. Just a ton of recommendations from Florio and Eisen confirming it that would tank an NFL team like no other. My favorite was the weeks on end of them questioning why no NFL team brought in the shitty Afro QB who could "easily" be a back up QB in the league. Raiders finally gave him a chance and he was so bad that both parties agreed to not release the tape and never talk about it again. Ooops, on to the next talking point.

BTW how are you gonna suspend a nigga for a full season+ when they couldn't even convince a grand jury they had enough evidence to even take him to court?

Gotta respect his hustle though. Dude took his career out behind the shed and shot it while making a hilarious amount of money from Nike.
Oh yeah, I would do all that to make that kind of money from Nike. But the left wing media commentators who were demanding he be given a shot after being out for 5 years and before that he was on the verge of being cut for being a terrible back up QB were just stupid

Holy shit, is that real?

Look into Todd Marinovich. His dad did similar shit and micromanaged the hell out of his son. I think he didn't even have McDonalds or something until he was an adult. When he got to college, that was the first time he was not under a microscope, and results are about what you'd expect. (He went hard)

I've never been a fan of Florio, but his obsession with Kneeling Nog pushed me onto a new level. The guy was a bum at QB and his two legitimate shots at getting back into the league were disastrous. Yet I'm sure we're going to get another post speculating that Kaepernick might get another shot with a team.

At least the players seem to think he's a moron too, based on some of the responses I've seen when his name is mentioned. PFT is such a faggy mess and I don't know if it is due to Florio or Florio selling out to NBC. At least the original version didn't treat itself seriously.
