My fiance was accused by a customer of being a "woman pretending to be a man" at his place of work. Not sure how the lady came to this conclusion, honestly.
He is 6'4", had stubble, keeps his hair short, normal voice range for a male, very angular and sharp jaw and cheek bones, pronounced brow ridge.
He wasnt dressed "feminine" either, he was just in his work uniform which is a t shirt and black pants.

Ex girlfriends older brother has a full beard- and also beautiful, lucious, waist length dark hair. People often misgender him when they see him from the back. He’s gotten many a “excuse me miss”. He also sometimes would dress up as a female character for halloween, and would get guys hitting on him from behind, who then always looked horrified when he turned around.
In my year, theres a cis guy who is so incredibly nonbinary trans masc coded. I was wondering if he might be trans, but i don’t think he is. I’ve never seen him misgendered, but i was unsure if he was cis.

I know three cis men who regularly get “clocked,” always because of their voice. They all take it on the chin, and people usually realize they’re men after seeing their face or interacting with them for a bit. But people where I live are very likely to assume you’re gay based off of stereotypes (despite the fact the guys are gay). I know they hate having that assumed because of the way they speak and feel like it robs them of the chance to choose who to share that with.
It seems like cis people’s natural thought pattern at least with the voice and mannerisms is “Is that a woman, no.” to “Is that guy trans?” to “No? so he must be gay then”.

I have a cis male friend who everybody thinks is a trans guy.
Hes been asked multiple times if hes a trans man. Actual trans people think so too which is even funnier to me.

Met this guy at a bar and I thought he might be trans because of how he looked and sounded. He mentioned something about back when he changed his name and I was like "oh he's for sure trans," so I got his contact and said "always nice to make cool trans friends." He said "run that one by me again?" And I said "...cool trans friends?" And
he laughed and said "I'm not trans, but like 8/10 people think I am, so no big deal" or something to that affect. After I was done prying my foot from my mouth we continued talking normally, lmao.
