I support every detranser on this site for leaving the cult, obviously. But accountability still exists. Not identifying with the cult doesn't immediately rectify what they might have spread or believed before, which is why I support those on the site that share their experiences, how they got out, and actively encourage others to do the same. Stop the spread as Fauci says.

Many detransitioners are hostile to accountability because of the trans people who tell them to take accountability in an attempt to save face, but on the other hand the trans people are right in this case. Every trans person, regardless of age or gender or sexuality or background, is necessarily a narcissist and a liar. They may have been groomed into it, but victims usually become perpetrators, so that's no excuse. Every detransitioner needs to admit they did bad things while exposing the other bad things trans people did. And there's no need for detransitioners to feel like victims of an inhuman cult or whatever; living life as a perpetual victim is self-defeating, and -- apologies for the political sperging -- obsessing over evil troons is how Trump won since it's a bunch of sensationalist culture war garbage that amplifies a relatively niche issue to make Republicans look sane enough to cover for the fact that they're a bunch of grifters with no serious interest in building good policy that serves all citizens.

Does this have a 100% effectiveness rate in convincing cis people to check themselves? No, although it's surprisingly high - people get embarrassed a lot more easily than they concede a debate point. But it is very effective in reminding yourself that you aren't asking for some big favor or political statement. It's just what any man would expect. They're the one who's making this awkward.
