It was decided for some reason that we all need a fuck ton of unnecessary shaders and also 8k cascading shadows everywhere even though that's like the first thing everyone always turns off to improve performance.

Have not yet seen anything of the game. Only those release cinematics quite a while ago. Dunno if they are even ciematics that will be used in game.
But I assume you are talking about UE's tech demo. That is not Witcher game, that is demo for the engine.

So, what are you going to do with your godlike powers?
- Dunno, catch very big rats or something.

The witcher schools are dead, witcher is a dying profession, there's no one alive who even knows how to perform the witcher transformation, and Ciri apparently doesn't have anything better to do than work as a pest exterminator around the countryside. Only reason she's the lead is that there's a metric ton of porn of her out there. By Indians, for Indians.

The whole game feels unnecessary, especially if they end up following the same gameplay formula of 3.

I'm not that familiar with the lore, but isn't MaxTac just a SWAT like unit? It would make a good straight FPS, but I'm not sure about an RPG.
 
You know when i played W3 got to the end and then played Blood and wine, i was glad that Geralt essentially settled down and just enjoy life. I truly felt like the end and i was happy. Never crossed my mind the idea of a sequel because i felt everything for the most part wrapped up nicely. We reach current year and W4 is a thing and honestly im not excited or interested in the game as of now because theres no reason for the game to exist(they want money i know) looking at how W4 is and what is gonna attempt makes me wish i had stabbed Ciri at the end of W3 and just let the 2nd Conjuction of the Spheres happen.

Agreed, though you gave me an idea for a spinoff game from the main series where you play as a MaxTac operative either solo or with friends. It would be like playing SWAT 3 or 4 but with crazier toys.
