Titanic tourist submersible goes missing with search under way

Its also a lot harder to land people on and get them back alive.
All the problems of Mars, but further away, pressure, heat, volcanic activity, corrosive atmosphere, storms...
Venus is a hell world.
It's thick atmosphere is effectively a sea. You could in theory make Venus a resort world with floating islands at the level where air pressure and temperature are comfortable with minimal shielding. But it's effectively permanently cost prohibitive to mine resources from the surface.

Which goes to highlight Mars is for men, Venus is for women.

There's also the fact that a sidereal day on Venus is like 180 224.7 days. Assuming your floating space colony has a constant position you'd spend 60% of an Earth year under constant sunlight and another 60% of an Earth year looking up at the darkened void.

Then there's the problem of how do you make a colony floating on top of acidic hell self sustainable, let alone profitable?

You don't.
You make a cruise ship, and have it sail the planet.
I like it. Convince people with more money than sense to get on a pleasure craft that should ballast fail would plunge them into the closest approximation of Dante's hell that we've seen so far.

And for what? So that the well to do can look down at some fart clouds?

The winds circle the planet every four earth days so you could literally just float around. 50km up would be one bar, and the atmosphere at that point is breathable

I came to the conclusion that Andrews attempted to save Captain smith from going down with the ship at the very last min.

My reasoning is based on accounts of Andew's last known location, with one witness saying he was going to save the captain directly, and one witness saying he was outside the bridge with the captain and jumped off shortly before it hit the water.

From then on I hypnotize Andrews died shortly, but Smith lived long enough to talk to some people and recommit to going down. It was a while back when I was going over this but if someone could cross check the accounts that would be cool.
No I believe you could be right. From what I could find Andrews was seen by one witness heading quickly to the Bridge, and he stated "I'm going for Smith, theres no reason he has die here" and another witness said they may have seen Andrews and Smith on the starboard side of the balconey next to the Bridge, looking over at the bow, which was just beginning its final plunge. Of course at this point panic was setting in and the witness didn't know what happened afterwards. I couldn't find anyone saying they saw them after the sinking.
If they went in its likely the cold got to them quickly.
He walked off something that should have killed him 10 times over, without so much as frostbite.
Which brings me to Joughin, and yeah the guy is a medical miracle, while Brandy and Vodka are two spirits that are reputed to share fortifying properties against the cold, its usually because alcohol dilates the blood vessels, allowing warm blood back into the extremities, but this is at the cost of core temperature.
It should have killed him quicker.
A combination of Alpha Genetics, staying calm and keeping his heart rate down, and not getting his head wet, plus a lot of luck is my guess.
Joughin survived water so cold Carpathias crew observed chunks of sea ice floating among the bodies.
The guy should have died.
He survived for two hours water that will kill a man in 15 minutes.

Venus is a hell world.
There is also the funny thing where Venus is one of the few planets with a very young surface due to the fact that being almost as large as Earth and completely lacking plate tectonics means the pressure just builds up inside and the planet undergoes catastrophic resurfacing every few hundred million years or so.

Mind you, the same IFLS dorks who've decided that Mars would be a utterly horrible place for habitation because muh Elon are also convinced that Venus would be hot shit (pun intended) and freezing out the atmosphere on top of this would be no problem at all.

There are probably parts of Mars that wouldn't be much worse than living in Alaska.

Absolutely all of Venus is a complete shithole and the idea of living there in some kind of flying city is the biggest bullshit I've ever heard of. What kind of retard thinks that's a good idea?

It can get up to 20-30C on Mars during summer, only learned that like last year and was amazed
That's a perfectly livable temperature

Karl Stanley could be onto something.
He knew Rush pretty well.
I don't know wether Rush was deliberately trying to kill people, but I think Stanley is right that Rush knew it wasn't safe, and decided he'd rather be killed instantly and painlessly if it imploded than have to be around and deal with the consequences of his failure.
That's why Rush insisted on being on every dive personally. If it was going to go bad, he wanted to be onboard when it did.
To a guy like Rush, a quick painless death was preferable to humiliation and being sued into bankruptcy.

Implosion animation.
Better than running out of air I guess.

Actually that's fucking horrifying.
Notice what didn't crush, and seemed undamaged?
The fucking Titanium Endcaps.
Really should have used the material that's normally used for DSV's and not the shit they use to make Bicycles frames.
