Went to listen to the podcast and had to turn it off. What the fuck happened to Lena's voice it's painful to listen to. Is this a schmorky fake troon voice or HRT?!
HRT doesn't change men's voices. I'm pretty sure he got vocal cord surgery in addition to the face surgery? I hate his voice as well.

Oh yeah right I forgot that's an option. He really sounds like schmorky right now that's unfortunate. At least before his voice sounded fine. Clearly that's a guy but it's not unpleasant. Troons need to stop falling for the vocal cord surgery scam jfc.

Bringing this back up in light of Rick Derringer’s death. RIP.

Listening to random YouTubers today and came across this one whose speech pattern and style is so completely Todd (and the associated Lindsay and CA/TGWTG) coded that it was a little disturbing.
It's not just that people take Todd's pop culture critiques seriously but the presentation and delivery as well. No wonder he's gotten lazy; he's literally resting on laurels.

There's a lot of 21st century rock one-hit wonders that Todd should look into. Such as "Drive" from Incubus, "Broken" from Seether and Amy Lee, "All Around Me" from Flyleaf and "Sail" from Awolnation.
It depends on what he wants to do, and what he gets paid to do on patreon. I doubt he'd do Seether because he hates that era of nu-metal and tends to be very dismissive of it. Which I get, a lot of my love for it is firmly planted in nostalgia, but Todd isn't one to look past his biases. I doubt he'd ever touch Linkin Park for Trainwreckords because then he'd have to address how he laughed at Chester's lyrics about internal pain, only for Chester to have committed suicide due to his real mental health issues.

Also, there's more nostalgia for the older stuff, so he can get hits and interest through that.

"Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard is a very obvious choice, especially their back with a new album this year. Very topical.

Ooooh, I was talking about One Hit Wonderland. My bad.
It may be me, considering “Ocean Avenue” is the album’s title track. That said, I don’t think Yellowcard was ever on any one hit wonder lists I’ve seen.

While he does make some self-deprecating jokes, he still presents himself as an authority on pop music. Despite constantly getting his predictions wrong, he makes them and does so in a way where he's acting like he has all of this knowledge about trends and the industry that he can make these calls, and for the most part is wrong. And after over 15 years of this, he still hasn't learned his compass doesn't point the right way.
Well, if that’s the case, I managed to find videos of his wrong predictions up to 2019, and his correct predictions up to 2024, so we can somewhat gauge what his batting average would be.

It's weird because I've seen it on quite and I was like, "Y'all are just gonna pretend that 'Only One', 'Lights and Sounds' and 'Way Away' don't exist?"
