I would love a series by Todd that talks about the origin of sub-genres in music and their relevance (and influence) in popular music.

As someone who's been around the Fantanofag and /mu/ types a bit, this sounds like a recipe for disaster with arguments about which what's-their-name band started this genre when this one was actually just proto-[genre label] and it was actually this band no one has heard about but the progenitors of the genre liked popping up in his comment sections and bluesky replies guaranteed. Todd has shown a pattern of being conflict-averse with the milquetoast takes he puts out online for things that actually matter (not his musical preferences) so why would he wish that upon himself?

I think there's a lot of stuff out there that people have never heard of that he could shed some light on. That Foo Fighters album I mentioned, he could talk about their origins, Dave's time in Nirvana, and how the album holds up compared to the rest of their work. And if he did a video on something like Dark Side of the Moon, a lot of people would be interested to see his take on a classic. There's also the fact that he's mentioned he listens to more country these days, but doesn't talk about this genre he's familiar with unless a song comes onto the pop charts.

You know what's funny? Because I've never actually listened to any podcast with Todd in it, my brain went to thinking that you guys are talking about Rap Critic's podcast partner Mues who has also trooned out as 'Moth.' I haven't listened to a Rap Critic album review podcast ep for like a year, I check in last month for their final episode for the podcast, and I get stunlocked by Mues's dogshit vocal fried troon voice for a few seconds.

I would say that's an uncanny similarity between Todd and RC but it might just be the company that they tend to run into in their 'industry' as online music reviewers.

I’d enjoy that concept more than Trainwreckords, that’s for sure.

Trainwreckords is good in theory, but it’s the type of series that can only exist for a couple episodes before you start scraping the barrel. Todd has been scraping the barrel since day 1. Very few albums genuinely kill the career of the artist who puts them out, even half of the albums he has reviewed on that series were released so far into the band / artist’s career that there was nothing left to kill at that point (the Beach Boys album being the best example).

Also, I know I’m over a month late to this, but the Limp Bizkit TW video made me fully tap out. I haven’t watched Todd in ages because his videos are becoming shittier and shittier but the start of that video just upset me to no end. He’s not even trying to be funny anymore.
