I didn't even think of this but this really is the craziest part. Chris wants praise for being "mature" enough to give his mother some of his credit to help her with bills, but then he gets pissed because she... spent it on bills.

I wonder if Chris thinks she was supposed to buy him fancy meals or more toys or something. More than once we've seen him exhibit belief in that television idea that if he gives up a prize because it's the "right" thing to do, he deserves to be rewarded by being given the prize anyway.

Fatty got a credit increase so 30 seconds later saw something he wanted and bought it. Blorb caught on a demanded her cut simple as that.

The rest is just Fatty trying to justify his purchase in the most childish way by comparing it to Blorb paying bills because he's grumpy she took more of "his" money.

The way I'm reading it, Chris "gave" Barb half the credit to use on bills/household expenses and in addition to that Barb then paid more than the minimum payments due on stuff using their cash resources (they wouldn't be down any monthly money yet if she had only used the "windfall" credit line increase).

Wait until fatty realises that next month the minimum payment is going to be higher due to them maxing out the increase in the credit line.

The fact that Chris thinks Barb using the credit card on bills is "impulsive" is hilarious to me. Spending money on bills is impulsive, but spending it on more toys is fine...and then you beg for more money because of that dang ol' impulsive bill paying.

If my interpretation of what he means by "it slows me down more compared to early in the months" is correct, then it's like a spoiled brat threatening to not do his chores (his outstanding Etsy orders) unless he's given more allowance money.
