I don't dislike Jessica Black. Friday is a God awful, piece of shit song, but that's more the fault of whoever wrote the lyrics. Honestly, I don't think she's that bad of a singer and she definetly didn't deserve all the death threats.
I think Friday is a decent pop song. Stupid but not the death of music.

I don't get The Beatles, Bob Marley or Janis Joplin. Not my bag.

Oh, but I fucking HATE Nicki Minaj. Please explain to me why people like her, because I sure as hell can't think of a reason.
Overall she is a decent rapper bordering on great. She has skill and has spit some dope verses (Kanye West's Monster and Ludacris' My Chick Bad come to mind). Unfortunately her pop stuff has gotten a lot more play and thus been overplayed.

Oh also while I'm on rap I'm not a fan of Lil Wayne and find it hard to take Drake seriously after watching Degrassi.

Oh, that Beatles thing reminds me, I can't bring myself to like any song by them that isn't Come Together. The only other song I could really admit to liking would be Money, but that's because they're not the ones that made it.

Seriously, it almost infuriates me how nobody knows who Barrett Strong is. Precisely nobody I know knew that The Beatles didn't make that song. I looked like a real shit-eater for having to bring that up all the time, but still, Barrett Strong deserves more credit for that song.

I never understood why people have such an aversion to Nickelback, they aren't THAT bad guys. Sure, they are a little samey, but they aren't THE worst either. Infact, I actually well... LIKE some Nickelback songs.
I used to be obsessed with them when I was like, 10. Then I realized they're a really generic rock band with a lead singer who's a total douche. That and I don't agree with a lot of their lyrical themes lately like, "I wanna get drunk, do drugs, get fucked, and be in an awesome band like Nickelback," or, "fuck yeah, let's drink fucking whiskey, get fucking drunk, burn down some fucking fucker's house, and write a song about it," and I'm especially not a fan of, "LERK AT DIS PHOOOOOTOGRAPH!" They're not the worst band in the world or anything, but they're definitely not anything unique. Although I do like to play along with people and chastise others for listening to Nickelback because chastising people for their taste in music is, frankly, hilariously immature.

Yeah, Nickelback is just... average

Sometimes, I'm not entirely sure if Pat Monahan's lyrics are stupidly brilliant or just plain stupid.

Jewel's music has not aged well. In "Standing Still," she sounds like Ashlee Simpson trying to be Leann Rimes, and in "Who Will Save Your Soul," she's practically yodeling/gargling in the choruses.

Katy Perry isn't that great.

I hate Taylor Swift--in fact I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC!

I don't see what the big deal with Amy Winehouse is. And I don't think she should be included in the 27 club just becuase she died at age 27. The people in the 27 club of course died at the age of 27, but they changed music--she didn't.

I still like to listen to some Spice Girls--I love singing them at Karoake bars.

Oh, and if ANYONE BADMOUTHS THE BEATLES IN THIS TOPIC, I WILL LOSE IT! Just kidding, you're entitled to your own opinion. Just at least back it up.

I think Paul was the weaker songwriter, though. A lot of people like Paul--but if you listen to Wings, it's all crap. The only song that has substance is "Silly Love Songs" and that was to get back at John who criticized Paul for writing "silly love songs." You listen to John's solo music, and the lyrics and music are both good. Also, Paul did something really, really, horrible, that made me not like him as much as the rest of the Beatles. And Yesterday is over-rated.

Also, I guess this is an unpopular opinion in music--I like Yoko Ono. She's an amazing artist, and an amazing person. She didn't break up The Beatles. They were ready to break up, they were all growing up. And she and John were possibly one of the greatest couples ever--even though they took a break, but that's what made them realize they loved each other.

Implying Taylor Swift has anything at all to do with this man:

Or this woman:

You're gonna have to give me some more names to convince me you hate country and not just Taylor Swift. :/

But I will agree that new country is awful compared to the old stuff. Sounds more like pop music than it does country.

There is nothing wrong with this. Spice Girls had some excellent pop hits.

As for disliking The Beatles, just not my jam. My music listening tastes are mostly hip hop/rap and punk leaning. Sure I like pop music and have been listening to softer (for lack of a better term) stuff lately but these two genres are the majority of it. The Beatles, from what I've heard, just don't appeal to me. I respect the group and see their place in music just not for me.

I don't like it in general. I like the Dixie Chicks, though.

Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Clint Black.
Okay, fair enough.

I just hate it when people associate all country music as Taylor Swift. Especially when there are much more talented country musicians worthy of that kind of recognition.

George Harrison is the best Beatle. AC/DC is overrated as fuck. Sex Pistols > The Ramones.

George is tied with John as my favorite Beatle.

I have seen Jewel in concert waaaaaay back when, she actually lived in near way I was for a while and attended the prestige Interlochen arts academy so she has concerts where I live regularly, but yeah, I would kind of agree. Though, maybe its just my nostalgia goggles. I listened to her all the time as a kid.

I don't hate Justin Bieber. Don't like his music but his current self destruction has been hilarious to watch.
Same here, I don't really care about Bieber, but it is funny to see where his self destruction would take him.

He's acting like a spoiled 16-year-old girl.

I prefer to call him "talentless castrati" or "pygmy freak"

I hate country music. I live in a state with a lot of rednecks and I want to distance myself from their ilk as much as possible. They're born-again Christians; I'm an atheist. They jack off to football and the Non-Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks; I find sports boring as hell. They don't know other countries and cultures; I've read National Geographic from a young age. They're creationists; I KNOW evolution is real, the universe is +/-15 billion years old, the Earth 4.5 billion years old, and that adaptation and evolution are NOT chance! You're Welcome!

Hee!

"Non-Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks" is beautiful.

Country music as we know it is a pure Hollywood invention. There is something to be found in the "white man's blues" of Hank Williams (the 1st), Patsy Cline, and such; it was folk music and followed its own rules. Anything later than the mid-60s is crap, pure crap; pop sung with a fake Southern accent to get them Country Music Awards. Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah (etc.) where you might find actual cowboys if you know where to look, do not border Tennessee or Alabama despite what they want you to think.
