ValiDate - an upcoming (and unsurprisingly racist) visual novel made by SJW's, for SJW's. Currently MIA.

I scrolled down and thought this was a gay dude. The only giveaway to show that they're a (Butch? Is that the term for this?) lesbian is maybe the eyelashes? Even the dark lips can be a stylistic choice so I can't say anything about that either.

Also, why are they holding the L with the lesbian flag on it? Doesn't that imply that you lost for saying something stupid online? Are they implying that Lesbians are taking an "L" for the month? Wouldn't it be a "W" to fall in line with the meme itself? Because they're "winning" for this month? Christ, I give up.

It stands for Lesbian bro

I know it's supposed to be lesbian, but the meme still isn't good or funny...or even original mind you.

That being said, why is their page full of so many memes? I would get if these were fan-submitted, but so much of their own content seems to just come from the artists themselves. Main accounts, again, should be kept clean. Searching for updates is kind of a pain when you have to scroll through several threads of memes to get to it. Again, a separate twitter account for this would solve this problem, but for now, anyone looking to find updates on the game (if you want that, obviously) isn't going to find much.

There's a reason why people tell you as a dedicated account to stick to your source material.

Trying to cash in on the Smug Wendy's account, I guess.

Update: Another screenshot of the game was posted.

can someone remind me why it looks so stock looking in terms of engine and appearance again?
They're probably using one of the big three common engines that visual novels use (most likely renpy as its free and allows a lot of customization) and they literally are taking the first image off a search engine for the backgrounds and adding a few filters to them.

Visual novels tend to fit the same formula UI-wise as they're defined by their limits and lack of resources, but this is not caring enough to focus on anything but the "emotional" and "funny" bits (ie what the creators think is the meat and potatoes). I'd understand if they had less artist and even less resources, but screen design really seems like an afterthought here, even though all you will do is stare at the same set up the entire game.

I looked at this screenshot and noticed that several things aren't lining up

1. Character's shoulder doesn't connect with fabric going down her shirt, but her arm thickens near her waist? I also noticed that her arms aren't aligned properly either. Figured the text box was throwing me off, but no.
2. Character's eyes are very small, but her glasses look to be almost too wide for her eyes. The perspective is a bit off. I understand the glasses aren't directly on her face normally, but even then, there would be some sort of lean.
3. Character is supposed to be shrugging but their shoulders, again, don't move up..or maybe they do? When you hunch or shrug your entire arms elevate a bit. However, since his hands are in his pockets, they don't looks like he's stretching the fabric of his clothing as much as his arms look too be wayyyyy too short for his body. It's a typical beginner mistake that many newbie artists make.
4. What is that on the bottom? It's like it blends in with his pocket? Is that supposed to be the girl's bag? I don't see a satchel or anything like that on her and it's clearly not the bg, so what is it?

Nobody cares, at this point. I'm just waiting for the Let's Sperg to see how bad the dialogue is.
