been on a vampire kick lately

kinna wanna play Vampyr

I've never heard about it before til tonight, it looks pretty cool
I enjoyed it, combat isn't revolutionary or anything but the atmosphere and style is pretty nice. Worth playing through twice at least to see different outcomes to choices and if you care about achievements it's an easy one to 100%

If they do another Def Jam, THIS better be the song they use for a trailer.

Any decent C64 games written after its 'death' worth checking out? Hell, any decent games that still hold up that are worth a go? Pentagorat on Vic-20 always interested me but haven't got around to giving it a shot yet.

Finally got around to actually playing through Dishonored 1 and 2, and by that I mean actually finishing them. Also not going guns blazing the second I got spotted and quitting after the party level. Finally get why alot of people enjoy them so much. I didn't like 2 nearly as much as 1, the systems just didn't feel as focused, also holy fuck some of the levels ran so bad it was unplayable until I restarted my PC and closed out any browsers. Also started Death Of The Outsider and am not sure I'm gonna finish it, I like the different version of blink and the face swap abilities but the replacement for dark vision is terrible. Any recommendations on similar games that aren't named Thief, Deus Ex, or Prey?

Just want to say that the Famicom Disk System still holds up after 30+ years of its release:

I think I found a replication device that was on AliExpress that was selling for $30 and Wicked Gamer & Collector even did a review on it months ago:

A sequel to AI: The Somnium Files was announced and everything is right with the world.

A YouTuber called The 8-Bit Guy released one a couple years ago called Planet X2. It's an RTS, which is an ambitious genre for an 8-bit micro, but from the independent reviews I've seen it seems to work pretty well. He released a sequel for 640k PC-compatibles called Planet X3 and is currently working on an action game for the Vic which is called Attack of the PETSCII Robots which will have an enhanced C64 version. You can find independent reviews as well as his own videos covering the development of the games on YouTube.

I'm playing Hotline Miami and for some reason all the indicator bars glitch out at some point so I can't see what my objectives are or how much ammo I have in the guns I pick up. Is this an issue with the game or is my graphics card borked or something?

for a proper one you probably need to learn moonrunes or figure out how to autotranslate them.

There's auto translate programs for the PC but they are fucking memory hogs, like you can't just run them on your toaster, you need some decent equipment.

Usually people hold their phone up to the screen and do it that way.

I’ve never played this one, I’ll have to try it out sometime!

There are English otome games that aren’t part of the Harvest Moon/Rune Factory franchise, but they tend to be pretty obscure. The DS got a pretty decent amount of them. Some of them were translated and released in the west by Ubisoft as part of the Imagine series, as it was believed that they’d sell better under a well known girl game brand name. So most of the Imagine games are trash but then like 4 of them are good weeb games disguised as trash.

Not that anybody asked or anything, but if you’re looking for a good otome game Princess Debut on the DS is pretty good. It’s kinda like Elite Beat Agents but with classical music and anime boys.

I'd love to play a "Schizo-horror" game where you play as a sanitary worker cleaning the houses of hoarders. The horror bit progressively builds from the first level into the latter ones. At first you visit the homes of otherwise sane people and deal with regular hoarding, but later on, you start meeting hoarders who start to dip into horrorcow territory, you start finding bones, creepy nonsensical notes, nauseating smells that will require you to wear a mask to go further, insect swarms, corpses, underground "sex dungeons" and many worse things...

Not the same thing, but i think one of the games that got this atmosphere the best was SWAT 4 in some of the levels. Like the 2nd mission with the weird fetish bunker or the 9th with the cult's children graveyard.

SWAT 4 is so fucking good. those creepy levels are so memorable because they were spaced in between more typical hostage situations.

we're never going to get another good swat game 😞
