I will shill Intravenous, until it launches because it will scrap my need of stealth game with some difficulty without come back to the past. And I want to try mod it, but will fail because the dev is too "based".

Can't say anything about BB. But the DS 2 is where FromSoft learned to never listen to vocal players without thinking. The game mechanically was mostly fine. But somethings like almost bosses being "human",the "souls levels" made worse and the DS IS A DIFFICULT GAME GIT GUD. And the things that made it worse I could see the "community" being very vocal about it before the launch.
Edit: An unpopular opnion:
DS 3 is a cash grab they could revamp DS1 engine and staple a good "expansion package" and it would be great, but it's much less than the remake. But if was the past it would be launched as expansion for DS1, everybody would be much happier.

I feel like I'm the only person alive excited for Deathloop. It looks cool, the targets look interesting and the level design looks fun, and I'm very intrigued by the invasion mode. The only thing is, if nobody buys it there won't be nobody to invade :(

It's good to see a game doing something different in current year. Arkane is (sort of) a AAA studio but the whole concept of Deathloop is very AA. Remember those? And I suppose Arkane being in dire straits is somewhat to thank. If Dishonored 2 was more successful I could see them rehashing it for the very short remainder of the studio's lifespan.

I'm a huge Arkane fan to begin with so it figures the game caught my attention, but I don't blame the average person for not feeling the same way. The initial reveal trailer was really underwhelming and it didn't do a whole lot to explain the game. It's almost like cinematic trailers are a retarded way to promote video games, especially new IPs. Subsequent trailers still didn't really explain the core concept and it eventually took the director of the game to stand in front of a camera and explain it, but by that point the only people paying attention are the ones like me already invested.

I didn't like the dialogue at first, but its grown on me. Some of it anyway. In the trailer above the VA's performances tend to save a lot of dialogue that, on paper, would be awful. I.e.
"What is your style?"
"Chit chat when I should be killing motherfuckers, apparently."
If I read that on a script I'd cringe into next week, but Colt's voice actor makes it work.

I love the style of the game, lots of circle motifs in the environment. I'm not a huge fan of the normal mooks, I think they look sort of generic. But the named characters have great designs and the general art directions is very cohesive. Take a look at the skyboxes, they're like oil paintings. Reminds me of the first Dishonored.

I'm astonished that a game like this actually portrays 60s hedonism in a negative light. The soundtrack is great too, it sounds like something out of No One Lives Forever with a little bit of Goldeneye and Time Splitters. The guns look like they might be fun, I just hate their designs. Even the Luger has to look colourful and geometric. And it looks like you can only hold two guns at a time. It might work though, since I'm sure there's plenty of abilities and gadgets to make up for it.

I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of direction the story takes. I can see Colt breaking the cycle having disastrous consequences, maybe with people still murdering each other without realising they won't come back this time.

I think GamePass can give Arkane games a new lease on life, and I'll certainly check this out when its exclusivity period is up (assuming that Sony doesn't extend it at the last second like they did with Final Fantasy VII Remake). I just hope that a new Dishonored or Prey will be on the cards too, I'd hate to see Arkane neglect those two like Rare does with its old IPs.

For some reason Bandai namco sorted out the license nightmare that is Super robot taisen and the 30th anniversary game is coming to the west

Screenshot_152.png

The units announced were

Combattler V (he is a mainstay almost as Mazinger and mostly because they want to shill the Live action movie)
Mazinger Z Infinity (he was already implemented in other SRT iirc)
Z Gundam (duh)
GaoGaiGar final (shame that we lost Clawshrimpy ack ack ack ack)
Code Geass (they showed the Lancelot but the title is Lelouch of the resurrection, so the Lancelot and the Guren are going to get those big ass power armors)
Mobile Suit Gundam (weird, but is good to see the classic RX-78-2 getting some love)
Getter Robo Armaggedon (it is a mainstay but we got Getter Robo Arc recently so i expect them to be added in the next one)
Heavy Metal L-Gaim (been a while since they remembered it exist, its almost as relegated as Dunbine)
Magic Knight Rayearth (yeah THAT Clamp anime, they were already implemented iirc but i forgot in what super robot taisen)
Gundam Char Counterattack (lol wonder how much money bampresto is going to burn animating the Nu/Hi nu)
Gun x Sword (he was already implemented iirc a portable version of Super robot taisen, now it jump to mainstream super robot taisen)
Gundam Narrative (is fucking gundam and Sunrise has a partnership with Bampresto that goes millenia)
V Gundam (lel who cares)
Majestic Prince (if you believe you are missremembering then yes you are the one that was added before was Buddy complex, experts have already assumed that they are going to work as a more punchy Valkyrie aka fast units that do moderate damage)
Knights and Magic (it was a unfunny Isekai about a guy that end in a world where mechs exist, i stopped giving a shit about it when they started to add stupid shit like a harem)
Mazinkaizer Infinitism (is classic Mazinkaizer in Infinity format, it was originaly a figure and people complained that ZERO power creeped the fucking last game to hell and back)
J-Decker (the brave series are getting so much love now... and is sunrise so hurr)
Gridman (people are bitching that how is possible that SSSS Gridman happened last year and is already implemented when there are other series that they have not considered)
Gaogaigar vs Betterman (is based on a manga where check this out, Mamoru aka the shota that made Clawshrimpy a homosexual shotacon is a adult and badass)

We still are cucked out of BONES mechs like Eureka Seven AO, Captain Earth or Star Driver

After 2 I'd hope they never make another Dishonored game ever. Prey does need a sequel though.

I'm cautious about Arkane under Xbox. The very first game they announce after the acquisition is that vampire game and it looks like shit. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was the new Fortnite season or something. It looked very out of character for Arkane.

Also, Deathloop isn't actually a PS5 exclusive, that's just marketing. You can get it on PC day one. It just won't be on Xbox for a while.

I was legitimately surprised at the announcement of a western PC release too. SRW V and X were previously ported on PC but region-locked in spite of the english language support. I feel the cast is a bit short for a 30th anniversary game although I'm not complaining about the picks themselves. It's gonna be hard to top the cast of SRW T which had Captain Harlock, Cowboy Bebop, Magic Knight Rayearth, Gun X Sword, Votoms, GaoGaigar, Gunbuster and G Gundam.

Escaflowne and Yamato 2202 when?

So today, over a year and a half since I first got into Dwarf Fortress, I finally learned how to irrigate water into an artificial farm.

I swear every time I figure out how to do the more advanced things in this game my IQ goes up by about 10 points. It's crazy.
same, I figured out how to build a automatic proper screwpump the other day to purify seawater using a windmill

Edit: I found a better place for my stupid bullshit

Your post made me more interested in Deathloop than all the previous marketing that only gave me the feeling that it was just A2M's Wet again but with Souls-like multiplayer.

Steam Deck is really cool. I like that Valve has just said "Okay Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft if you don't want to produce a highend handheld we will." A lot of appeal in having the Steam library in a Switch sized handheld.

DMC5 on the go? Hell yeah.

Went to a used games store today, they were selling a PS5 and two Xbox Series Xs, first time I've seen these in person.

The price? 1200 dollars, this is over six months since launch, just crazy.

Far Cry 5 is pretty fun but I just did a whole part where you defend a guy's house and airplane hangar from a bunch of cultists in a big violent shootout, then watched a cutscene where a guy is talking to his uggo pregnant wife about getting the hell out of there and she pushes him to stay because that's his family home, and then they throw in a thing about how the guy said he wanted to pass his business down to his son and she corrects him with "you mean daughter :smug: you saw the ultrasound" and he decides to stay

she's pregnant and just lived through a gory firefight where a literally who deputy just saved them and she's the one insisting on standing her ground

also look at her haircut:

lol this is the exact kind of thing that's going to make this game feel 2018 as fuck in the future, that whole scene is as stereotypically late 2010s/early 2020s as this image is 1980s:

it's like, it's so cheesy I'm already having nostalgia for a time that hasn't actually passed yet
2018 is already a bygone era if you ask me.

Are there any strategy games besides Shattered Union that let you wargame out a second American civil war?
Whoa, that was the game I bought from the used game store today, weird to go into this thread and see that.

Yeah, I guess it sort of is. I remember reading and hearing a lot about how Far Cry 5 is and/or isn't political, and how lefties at the time were frustrated that the cultists were all across the board in terms of race, but with time clearing out a lot of that shit, the design really just seems like they went down a checklist to make sure the game was acceptable and palatable to as many people as possible by 2018 standards.

I guess the stronk wammen thing has finally tapered off, so seeing it in a game already feels campy and silly

Other companies have done this sort of form factor for a PC before. The GPD Win series was moderately popular. I don't know, while it'd be good for playing some games that will probably never see the light of day on the Switch on the go, I don't think the price is right (I mean, throw that cheapest model with the tiny eMMC straight into the trash, lololol) and I just don't know how much of a market there is for this.

I think we might see something similar to that Steam-branded controller with the trackpads, where this becomes moderately popular - after it fails and Valve has a clearance sale.

Far Cry 5 also had that hillbilly that was perfectly fine with homosexuals and this pissed people off. How dare this guy that looks like a MAGA chud say that!

Let us know how it goes. I remember it being pretty janky but I enjoyed it for its alt-history weirdness. I just wish there were more games like it that aren't ancient history or WWII.
