Are videogames for children?

I can't remember my epic games account name and I'm starting to suspect I used my facebook (since deleted) to sign up. Fuck, just wanted to play my free copy of gta5.
at least GTA5 you can see progression.
on killing floor 2 that was given freely it's 70% useless, it's a steam game and looking for secret collectables will mean fuck all since they only unlock achievements for steam.
i just picked a farming map and i'm prestiging levels, takes a good while to do it but better than playing with randoms.
farm.PNG

all of that for some fucking cosmetics that no one besides you will give a flying fuck about.
and i almost forgot to mention that every day, if you complete a map or some levels in endless mode you'll recieve a "free crate" that you will need to buy a key for another type of cosmetics (like seasonal or thematic stuff), sure you can dismantle the box that will yield exactly 1 white token which then you can trade 10 for a cosmetic of low grade, if you get bored of said cosmetic you can dismantle that to get a blue token which will require you to collect another 10 to build a cosmetic and so on. in total it's 4 times to "change cosmetic grades", meaning you'll need 10000 white tokens to make a "mastercrafted" cosmetic, now imagine playing this shit for 10000 fucking days, i've played a good while and i'm bored stiff already.

Used to play Stardew Valley on and off a lot before getting burned out, but towards the end of last year there was a huge update and I haven’t played since, apparently there’s now a goal for 100% completion now.

I’m thinking of starting again and naming my farm Kiwi Farm and making it Kiwi or lolcow themed and going for 100% completion, but I’m not sure what I should name my character or favorite thing.

The Stardew valley update makes it possible to save during attempts for Journey of The Prairie King making it significantly easier to finish.

I put quite a few hours into Stardew Valley with some friends when co-op was added. We found an easy way to edit the save files to let people drop in and drop out at will, and it was a pretty good time.

Haven't played in a long time though. Scratching the itch with Harvest Moon on the GBA since I've got the setup for it. Currently stuck in the mine vortex lmao.

Recently modded my slim PS2 with freemcboot and mechapwn. Tested it with an import Mystical Ninja game that I didn't get too far in since I can't read moon (I assumed it would be a bit more friendly but nothing a walkthrough/guide can't help with). Mostly intending to import oddities and english friendly japanese titles that have been on my radar because I'm autistic and enjoy physical material goods. Any import games you kiwis would recommended for PS2/PS1? I ain't too picky, I mostly like arcade like games so stuff like the Sega Ages stuff is already on my radar and I also have a few fighting games I have my eyes on like CVS2. Some stuff that's already caught my eye are games like Gunners Heaven, Ore No Ryouri, and the JP version of Einhander for PS1.
Kinda reminds me of a cross between Tapper ,Wario Ware, and Cooking Mama so this might be my next purchase.

Anyone know if anything like Dungeon Keeper / War For The Overworld is in the pipelines?

I need something new along those lines, and I've already played Evil Genius and the Dungeons franchise.

I just wanna slap imps aroundy, is that too much to ask?

PS2 emulation (and emulation in general if I'm speaking from the soul) fucking sucks so yeah play on original hardware if you can. I'm not particularly experienced with the Yakoozie series, but at least they're all super cheap to pick up - relatively speaking considering their cult classic status.
Not sure I agree with this. I’m running PCSX2 through Launchbox, and using a trusted Launchbox forum poster’s plugin which allows optimised, individual game configs, the games I own (stress, own) playing via emulation almost all play extremely well; Yakuza & Yakuza 2 included. The only game which runs notably bad is Mafia which is a real shame.

Next Atelier game is apparently a direct sequel to Sophie. But Firis and the godawful Twins game were also direct sequels to Sophie.

So it's sounding like it's got a high chance of it being a Sophie/Ryza game.

So finally got ME Legendary Edition. Finished ME1.

I can definitely appreciate the touched up graphics. Also #giveuspinnacleatation!

Anyway, Liara is best girl.

I miss fucking around with people in videogames. The amount of hate messages me and my friends got through the years from fucking around and tag teaming people in videogames is amazing. WoW, Siege, CS:GO, GMod, Rocket League, StarCraft, LoL and even shit like BattleDawn, Runescape, BiteFite, Omerta, Gaia Online and NeoPets before that. If you've never got a message from some kid crying while him mom screams in the background have you ever even played games for real?
Part of the reason I never joined the SS13 server on KF is because I know I don't have the self control to keep my autism in check when playing such an easily exploitable game.

Shit'll never be the same.

Chapter 2 of Deltarune is being released. If you played chapter 1, this will probably be a disappointment to you. The dialogue in the trailer is written like a fangame rather than the real thing. You continue playing as Kris as usual as if nothing happened and there seems to be a lesbian love arc (of course).

Next time I find myself running PCSX2 I'll give those Launchbox configs a shot. Sounds like it smooths over some of the hassle, at least.

I believe you when you describe your games running well, but where I take issue with emulation is in accuracy. When I want to play a retro game (or really, any game), I want to be able to experience it exactly as it was when it was made and released. Emulators just aren't there yet and likely never will be; add on to that how finnicky and inconsistent those bastards can be and it's just not an appealing prospect.

You have to make a lot of compromises when dealing with emulation. It's not going to be perfect, the performance won't be 1:1, the controls almost certainly won't feel as good as they did on original hardware (the N64 in particular is strongly affected by this issue), you'll always be dealing with sub-par video processing no matter your settings, and some games just straight-up don't fuckin' work.

I remember trying to play Soul Reaver 2 on PCSX2 either earlier this year or sometime last year. The game shits its pants and dies once you hit a certain point around the start, and the PCSX2 wiki said it could be fixed by disabling a setting; but when I checked it was already disabled on my configuration. I said "fuck it", tossed PCSX2 into the recycle bin and went out to go buy a damned copy of the game. It even looked better on my CRT than what PCSX2 could offer with any settings.

Also I don't care if you own your games or not lol. I pirate shit all the time, it's rad.
