Are videogames for children?

I have a big write up earlier in this page. To put it simply, terrible launch quality(performance and save impacting bugs), zero marketing, extremely high price for a Paradox and locking a unit behind overpriced DLC.
Worst part is underneath it all I would not mind a shadowy, fantasy archeological based stealth TBT that takes place in the 1930s and is a globe trotting adventure.

On the upside I switched to trying out Jagged Alliance 3 after being disappointed with TLL. It's not perfect but it has so much clicking with me I genuinely want to go and learn the ins and outs of modding this game, or at least giving JA2 which I never looked into much a try.
Locking half the game behind a billion overpriced DLCs sounds typical for Paradox.

Has anyone played the batman Arkham Knight series? Pretty bummed to see the pre-release was pushed from October 10th, to December of this year.

Last time I post about it because the sources don't seem to be confirmed(some fag on resetera) but apparently 80% of Hare Brained Schemes has been laid off following Lamplighter's League's failure.

Pre release of what? I'm guessing Switch or something?
If you're talking specifically about Knight, it's neat but it can get really tedious in some areas just like all the Arkham games can. It's very shiny and very polished and if you're into the combat/predator challenges you'll get a lot of mileage out of it by virtue of the game having like 6(Azrael is a Batman reskin so he doesn't count) playable characters for all those maps.
The "DLC" is also pretty lame being a collection of three maps that span 15 minutes at most for every character instead of feeling like a story chapter similar to City/Origins' DLC. There is also a collection of three or four side missions in the main story that comes in as DLC but only the Mr Freeze one feels like it had much effort put into it.

Is Zampanella even still there? I heard he got pulled for an emergency unfuck of Battlefield but a whole 10 seconds of searching says he's back at respawn.
iirc got put in charge of dice LA, supposed to do their own game (after fixing dice swedens fuckups for years), but then dice sweden decided to eat even more of their own shit, suddenly he gets put in charge of both to provide a new premier blockbuster franchise to compete with cod/unfuck battlefield.

however main problem is lot of the shit that ended up in TF2 happened under his watch, so either way TF3 will be "tf2 but slightly worse" at best, if not a total abomination which only has the name for brand recognition.
fuck just thinking about it I can already see them raping the name even harder trying to compete with marathon with apex style + monetization and that new extraction shooter FOTM most people don't even give a shit about. TF2 gameplay modes already were going in that direction where bounty hunt was supposed to replace attrition (probably because it was too confusing for normalfags, same reason for that shitty 3-lane map design where even the worst TF1 map shits all over the TF2 maps).

TF1 was a fluke (just look at the circumstances surrounding it's development) most people didn't even play and think TF2 is the peak of the franchise for being their first titanfall game.

Does anyone know where I can play the original American McGee’s Alice on PC? I re downloaded Alice: Madness Returns from steam recently but for whatever reason the original has been scrubbed entirely from steam and Gog and virtually every other platform I can find. Why has it been nuked so much and does anyone know if there is a platform to play it on? Is piracy the only option?

I put off playing Knight for years just due to the rough launch on PC. Got it for like 5 bucks in the steam summer sale a few months back and I started playing it a week or two ago.
I underestimated just how irritating the Batmobile would actually be. I've heard people bitch about it since release but I didn't realize how central it'd be to the game and how much I'd hate the way it controls.
Everything else about the gam eis fine for the most part but the Batmobile singlehandedly cuts my play sessions with the game extremely short.

A spooky game question.

Years ago there was a trend for indie horror games where you work in a fast food place. Usually the twist is the meat is evil in some way. eg. The burgers are made from people, the meat is from hell, etc. Does anyone know what started that trend?

Edit: Also asked about a spooky game, answered by @Mr.Miyagi

I'm trying to find an indie horror game from a couple years ago (could be older, but it's when I first heard of it). The premise is that your dog runs away into a tunnel. You follow it. There was a mechanic where you could whistle and your dog would bark to lead you in the right direction. I remember one scary moment where you whistle, but something else whistles back.

Some details I'm not sure about. I think the dog was a corgi, I think the game had PS1 graphics, and I think Markiplier played it once. But I'm not 100% sure on any of that. My google-fu brings up lots of clones and copies.
Lost in Vivo? I found a video of Markplier playing the demo from 2016, game had its full release in 2018. Seems to have that spoiler bit you mentioned here.

Regarding that second one, the closest thing I can think of is Happy's Humble Burger Farm, which I believe first had an Alpha release in 2020 and a full release in 2021. That might be a bit later in the trend, though, not the original. I remember Spooky's House of Jumpscares/Jumpscare Manor having a portion of its levels dedicated to the same concept, and that game came out in full release in 2017, though I'm not sure if that section was in the original early release back in 2014 or whatever, or was added much later, like with the HD renovation.

That's the one. Thanks.

My searches kept bringing up a Steam game called Canine (not what I was looking for) and Markiplier had 500+ scary game videos, many of which have multiple games. I couldn't remember the name of it.

Wait is that why there's been no news of a new shadowrun or battletech?
These dumbasses tried to Xcom and fucked up so badly especially after trannytech?

Fuckssake is shadowrun as a brand just fucking cursed.
Had you ever heard of Lamplighters until it was released, flopped and (hopefully not) killed Harebrained?

Nope which is one of the issues I guess. I honestly thought they got vored by paradox fully after trannytech. It's a shame to hear that wasn't the case and their failures are soleely their own. I'm gonna miss being a chad cyberpunker giving myself magic seizures to sodomize the dragon of hippies then, the grimdark bs of keanu simulator is way 2 edgy4me.

depending if they still got the license and if it's exclusive it doesn't mean there won't be more games, they could just let someone else do it.

otherwise there are a few indies which would scratch that cyberpunk itch. the ascent has aliens instead of orc and elves but nails the atmosphere perfectly while looking pretty darn good
