Embracer(formerly THQ Nordic, before that Nordic Games) reports that Valheim has sold 8 million copies and Biomutant has sold 1 million copies.

Biomutant was developed by a small team and apparently earned back the entire development cost in its first week. They did not say how much it sold in its first week but I think it's a good example of why smaller projects(AA as they call it) makes more sense than pumping 100 million into some AAA spectacle that might crash and burn spectacularly(financially that is) and bankrupt an entire studio overnight.
I'm glad to hear that. I didn't know they published Valheim but I've always had a soft spot for THQ Nordic almost single-handedly keeping the AA studio tradition alive.

Looking to see if anyone here would be interested in a Crusader Kings 2 (same company that did Victoria, Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis but set before all of those) with different periods starts, additional religions not found in the other games and a different focus (you control a dynasty instead of a country, yes they can control countries but if the dynasty dies out then game over) among other things in a mix of roleplaying the character you control and also the standards of grand strategy
porobably best to best ask here: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/paradox-studio-thread.8431/page-51

Is the whole series on GOG yet? I have not played it in ages but the music has been stuck in my head for eons.

It's really one of the best game soundtracks and it's an edutainment game no less. Not even Dr. Brain had such production values.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege to Add Transgender Operator
View attachment 2453426
Ubisoft have announced the next operator being introduced to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be transgender.

The announcement of the game’s third season in year six- dubbed Crystal Guard– promises to bring map and operator reworks, Elite Uniform and headgear being worn separately, HP increases and dropping armor, adjustments for player comfort, balance changes, big fixes, and seasonal weapon skins.

There is also a reduction in the R6 Credits and Renown cost of five operators; Maverick, Clash, Amaru, Goyo, and Zero (a.k.a. Sam Fisher). The new season will also see a new operator- Osa, a Croatian attacker with a clear shield. You can see her in action in the Crystal Guard reveal and Operator Gadget Gameplay & Starter Tips trailers below.
Some caught a particular piece of information in the character’s biography. Aside from her love 60s sci-fi and tinkering, her time at University saw her being isolated “due to her unorthodox approach and others’ attitudes towards her transition.”

Replying to GameSpot, Ubisoft revealed that Osa was transgender; as writer Simon Ducharme explained in a statement to them.

“The decision to create a transgender character was made early on, as part of our initiative to have an inclusive roster of Operators. The consultants, all of whom are trans people, wanted to make sure that Osa was presented as authentically and organically as possible. She was written by a queer person and she is voiced by a trans woman – and while her identity is certainly influenced by her gender, who she is in the Siege universe is centered on her talents, her influence on Nighthaven, and her close friendship to Kali.”

Her biography’s psychological profile states her favorite movie is (the fictitious 1967) Empress of the Plutomatons; “filled with futuristic technology and colorful imagery, and was ahead of its time in the presentation of a strong female protagonist. It’s easy to see the trajectory between that little girl, wonderstruck by robots and spaceships, and the genius that she is today.”

The profile also notes that her family, such as her aunt and brother, and fellow operator Kali showed support in “both her career and her transition.”

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is available on Windows PC (via Steam, and UPlay), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

KF is giving me issues with video attachments, I'll add the archives later when it decides it wants to work again
Ubisoft already has already ruined this game. Now they are just pissing on its grave at this point.

twelve minutes is out. a point and click puzzle thriller. you play the same 12 minute scenario repeatedly getting bits of story and puzzle concepts. theres 1 real path to progress the story but theres a lot of endgame states. with the walkthrough you can get it in 2 hours, if youre figuring shit out could take 8. im enjoying it although there are a lot of red herrings. i looked up what to do to get the next step and it was pretty obvious in retrospect but i never thought to do it.

i spent my first round stabbing the wife to death so i started off on my backfoot. id reccomend not looking up a walkthrough

Someone I know finally got a PS5, so they gave me their PS4. Due to that, I've finally been able to start playing Marvel's Spider-Man.

The pacing, structure, and writing for it is great... up until you defeat Mister Negative. After that, though, holy fuck does everything go to shit. Otto, who they had been building up pretty well, suddenly goes from frustrated scientist to supervillain in the span of nearly a single cutscene. I also find MJ kinda annoying. She's not unbearable or even particularly badly written but her conflicts with Peter always feel forced and artificial. Like, yeah, your (ex-)boyfriend is going to get worried when you sneak into heavily guarded criminal hideouts; stop acting like his worries are unreasonable.

That aside, I'd say it's pretty much just a better polished and higher budget version of the 2012 Amazing Spider-Man game.

Which height, the height of neo-liberalism with sex offenders blaming other sex offenders for being sex offenders, or the height of when they still actually talked about games?
For me the height was 2017-2019 when you could still question our government and the establishment. While occasionally talking about vidya games.

They're calling that gay Arceus game "Nintendo's Revolution of the Souls genre" and other gay shit fuck comparisons to Dark Souls.

I will not have fucking Gamefreak and their lazy asses be deemed kings of the fucking Soulsborne genre. Fromsoft had to work their asses off, Gamefreak fucking coasted and needed constant bailouts and still delivered a subpar product because their audience is about as discriminatory as a fucking gold fish.

But no, they're now all elated that Pokemon is going to be the new Zelda II and make games hard again like they should be because only Nintendo made truly hard games.

None of them probably realize that King's Field exists and we've still yet to get the first game over in the west.

Here's an interesting video from Karl Jobst, famously mentioned by Null for having a rather vertical Oriental wife. Calling out market manipulation from Heritage Auctions, a company that speciailizes in exploiting niche dork markets, and 'Wata Games', a greasy 'valuer' run by a 'Dennis Khan'.

MS are having an incredibly boring 90 minute presentation at Gamescom at the moment.
They went full retard into service provision and have really put software development on the backburner companywide.

And it's been basically boiling down to them showing you just how much of your data they control.
