Warhammer: 40,000 - Rogue Trader - CRPG by Owlcat games

They do say the DLC will expand and effect the main story. I was just hoping for some crazier shit like Fighting/negotiating with the orks and Tau and having more alien companions.
No plans for power fist/ actual iron arms as stated by the devs on the discord btw.

Also still have turn-based fatigue from bg3 so I can't fully commit to this.
I am pissing off the drukhari fag constantly though last i checked.

Tau are unlikely, the Koronus expanse is far far away from Tau Turf. In fact it is on the opposite side of the galaxy. Tsu are in the lower right, Koronus upper left part of the map.
I dont think it would be that hard to say a freak warp storm deposited a Tau ship deep into the expanse and they established a colony right? Otherwise I guess I know what the sequel's covering.

Somewhat hard as Tau drives are not really that warpy, and their colony ships are rare and big.

Basically the likelyhood is like getting a Dusk Raider or Luna Wolf marine who was lost in the warp.

A Kroot would be unlikely but they do range farther.

Tl,dr, extremely unlikely. So if they do choose a Tau type, it would likely be a Kroot. I don't even get how they got GW to accept Nomos.

The main problem is that the the Calixis sector is the opposite end of the galaxy.

The most likely thing to get would be another marine or if we get lucky an Ork. Orks are everywhere.

I doubt it's verified canon and I can't recall what it was in, but I recall reading something saying they'd managed to pick up transmissions from another galaxy... And it was orkish.

So is facetank the intended way to build fish lady? Because Willpower to wounds and 6 regen a turn available as talents almost as soon as you get her make it seem like you're supposed to put her in front and spam Lidless Stare.

That's very old but not directly contradicted. 2nd or 1st ed, so ancient. But it makes sense. Orks are orks, and they had been around since the dinosaurs.

Space marines went to other galaxies at least twice, and they only had 11 thousand years for it. Orks and their love of space hulks would make them the natural canditate for extra-galactic adventures alongside nids, for bug reasons.

Thats how I use her. She always has initiative to start you can open every fight by setting half the enemy board on fire.

Good times.

I love the game, and it looks like a lot of the real story sequence bugs have been cleared from part 4, but man...

That steath mission was really badly designed. Eventually I just got the elf to breeze through it because everybody else was way too slow.

Also colony management is a pain in the ass. How the fuck am I supposed to make any progress when the world bearers keep invading? I had a really bad event where the dark eldar just fucked my shit up and stole half my money. I suppose I have no one to blame but myself, but it still felt like bullshit.

I got her into a buffer who gives like 70 Toughness boosts and than use the officer thingie for extra turn, than shoot 2 enemies with the movement disable attack or the wide range single attack.

Willpower to wounds and Perception to dodge make her very good. The extra turn and Warp Speed biomancer bufffs are very stronks. Argenta and Ulfar can be buffed up to take a big beating and blast away all day.

Doing a second run with a psyker imperial girl after imperial officer guy (hat and stache default guy). Heinrich is a lot nicer when romanced.

Next playthrough will be either iconoclast or heretic.

Astartes have gone to another galaxy? When? I must have missed that. There was an interesting in-universe question once about whether other galaxies even had the Warp - i.e. was the 'sea of souls' something created solely as a reflection of life in the galaxy, was it a pre-existing independent thing in itself, did it exist in other galaxies but have different gods or no gods because Khorne was a local to this galaxy thing, etc.

It was one of those mysteries that would never be solved. But if they've actually gone there maybe there are answers to this?

For me the game has bugged out in certain ways that mean I probably wont complete it. But fwiw, Cassia got a heavy focus on her Navigator powers and talents for me, as a super-buffer. But as I got to higher levels I did start making more use of her Grand Strategist powers. One in particular lets you make everybody in the Rear area the lowest priority targets for enemies. Dodge? Armour? Both pale into insignificance against the true defensive quality - not being the target. Yriet can do 800hp in a single shot but the enemy will still target vanguard Abelard because he's shouty. :)

And between her buffs and a Master Tactician RT pumping up his temporary wounds, the guy has more HP than a wolfhound titan.

One bit was when the Black Templars chased Vandire's goons into another galaxy with Grand Marshal Sigenandus. Another was a Space Wolf expedition that never returned.

It was never explained how the Templars did it, as the Astronomican limits Imperial Warp travel.

Very old lore* I read stated that the Warp was much bigger. I recall vividly the sentence, "Universes are bubbles floating on the dark ocean of the warp" and that the 4 gods ruled over it. Thst implies the Chaos gods are not only universal to all galaxies, but to whole universes in the plural.

This explained how the gods could be in 40k and fantasy.

The only 2 things that GW did that mentioned it recently are:
- The Chaos ritual that blackened the Sun and brought Horus's fleet to its orbit, which involved stopping time in the entire universe and making the solar system its center for a moment.
-The theory of the Cabal, because Abnett is dumdum, that killing humans off would "starve Chaos". Which would retcon the old GK novels that stated Chaos can't be starved or loose power once it gained it, and more importantly ignores the whole Slaanesh affair that would be kinda hard to ignore or retcon.

So I just consider the cabal to be a group of Abnett minded retards who were making shit up, with Eldrad trolling them as he poses as their tard wrangler.

* Eye of Terror novel, 2nd or 3rd edition era.
It also had another interesting topic, namely that Imperial ships had inertial dampeners that reduced the weight of the ship, like in Mass Effect. It explained this, as the main plasma drives would set the starport ablaze otherwise. Which is a valid point. SW/ST has antigravity, and SW bigger vessels like ISDs still don't land on planets outside of Disney. Since antigrav and Admech aren't on best terms, using the mass effect trick makes sense, though a decade before Bioware actually made ME.

@Male Idiot Ah, you know I think I remember that bit about bubbles on the dark ocean of the Warp as well. So much good writing in WH40K. There's also a bit in one of the Horus Heresy novels with the White Scars which talks about there being deeper layers to the Warp. I think this was before they understood what Chaos was so it might have just been talking about the realms of chaos but it also just gave this feel of the warp as we knew it just being this upper layer of an ocean that nobody knew just how deep it went because we were just little vessels on the top. I really liked that. It might be the same novel where they discover a warp gate but I don't recall which novel that is. In any case, thanks for the information. I remember the Cabal. Is Alpharius part of it because I recall the Alpha Legion motivation to join Chaos being something along these lines - that if Horus doesn't win it will be an eternity of war but if he does then Chaos will burn itself out and starve. Seems the same deal. It's been a long time.

I don't know how the Hell the Templars made it to another galaxy. The distance is absurd and there's no Astronomicon to navigate by. It doesn't even cover the whole of this galaxy.

I heard layers of the warp, propably with Chaos in the deeper ones. But I guess the Emperor was with the Templars, the Astronomican I think can shine extra hard when its really needed.

I think the Black Templar one was retconned into "across the galaxy" , but BT has so far received very little care lately besides primaris heroes. In fact one hero whose name I took an hour to remember, Castellan Draco, was basically written out, declared traitor for being too zealous.

I shudder to think what "too zealous" can mean for the Black Templars. Like was he incinerating people's whose name begins with C because that's the same letter Chaos starts with? Because the Black Templars are scary fanatical to begin with.

"Deeds too terrible to mention." His model propably didn't sell, and there is very little info on him. He was the first known BT to be declared a traitor. There is not any mention of Chaos, and he did have a beef with the Inquisition over the Celestial Lions. He also met Thule and was impressed by his and Avitus's zeal. Oh and he didn't like Tau. Too chud for newhammer I guess.

He was a model BT and thus very unlikely to go Chaos. BT fans weren't happy.

I saved up all my navigator points and just built warp lanes between all my colonies. All roads lead to Dragonus... or something

Got to act 4 and immediately ran into a funny bug, Heinrix acting like yrillet is on the bridge when I killed her in act 3

Act 4 and 5 are buggy messes.

Specced my second imperial run into a 2 handed melee psyker. She and Heinrix are mogging stuff with Argenta and Ulfar with Cassia in tow.

Warp speed is mental. +2 action points, psyker heavy chestplate and pyromancy passive to deal damage to any adjacent enemy when the two buff themselves before striking. Trick is to give them extra turn to pre-pervitin themselves before their turn as it is sadly only active from next turn.
