I’m tempted to preorder, but Owlcat’s games are always so buggy at launch so what’s even the point.

This was the only character I really had issue with in RT. Not that she was woke, but that she was so one-dimensional. Nigger, if you didn't have utility your Shadow The Hedgehog shenanigans would end at the airlock.

Jae was a close runner too, but it was obvious she was written to just steer into the pirate stereotype and at least she was an Iconoclast.
i only keep her on chaos because you can bind her spirit to you for eternity

I mean, an Ork follower would be a lot of fun, but the Orks tend to be pretty one-note.
A freebooter mekboy could have a pretty interesting dynamic in the crew, especially since one of Pasqal's endings has him studying xenotech. Bonus points if he makes his own gear out of the remains of your enemies to avoid the gear scarcity problem Ulfar, Yrliet, and Marazhai had. Plus it'd just be funny seeing Abelard, Heinrix, Pasqal, Yrliet, and Marazhai about to have a stroke at the sight of the ork wandering around.

We are totally going to be able to recruit the night lord into the party. Wonder what the logistics of that are and if he's going to be more or less of a hassle then the dark eldar. They are the least chaos corrupted rebel legion but that doesn't mean much when they are already kill crazy by default.

I draw the line at hunting my crew for sport damit.

Oh boy.

The womenfolk rpg players would ship the Nightlord so bad, its the perfect tormented bad boy...

I'm surprised that they're adding a new companion with every expansion in Rogue Trader. I wonder how well the new companion from expansion A will be integrated into expansion B, C, D, and how well the companion from expansion D will be integrated into expansion A, B, C, and so on. From what I've read, the DLC companion in Wrath of the Righteous had content in the final big story expansion, so hopefully the integrate all the DLC together well.

I'm guessing season two DLC will be the last of the DLC for Rogue Trader, since they're already advertising their next game. Speaking of their next game, Dark Heresy sounds distinctly smaller scale than Rogue Trader, I wonder how that will translate in terms of development, if it'll be a shorter / smaller game or if it'll be roughly the same size as Rogue Trader but with smaller stakes (which I'm hoping for).

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy
Cautiously hyped. I loved Rogue Trader despite its janky combat and myriad of bugs, played through it before the first big patch and any DLC and playing as an Inquisitor (hopefully Ordo Malleus) sounds seriously exciting. Kroot mercs being able to be added to your party pretty much already have me sold. This time i will wait to pick it up though and not jump on it at release, the state of the game at launch and even months after was a fucking joke and i heard other Owlcat games were the same.

At least Jae brought her stats to the table. I didn't like how she was written much though. Idira was basically outshined in every way by Cassia thanks to Perils of the Warp not affecting Cassia's abilities (i think they that changed in a later patch but i wasn't playing the game then anymore).
Holy shit, hype just rose by an order of magnitude.

That's pretty much what I did, I only just started my first playthrough. I don't know what the issues at launch this time were, but even if I were to give them the benefit of the doubt because of pretty much all systems being way different to PF, this being a consistent pattern is just embarassing at this point.

Dunno about issues, but there was an exploit, where officers had extra 2 action points with ability "seize the initiative. It was so broken, that it got fixed in 1.1 patch

I'm at the end of Act IV in my mostly Iconoclast run.
Pretty fun, though I avoided the crazier decisions like sparing the genestealer cult or rescuing a few hundred potential cultists and damning an entire planet to become a daemon world

Abelard is pretty much doomguy if you give him a chainsaw and the malpian cloak that adds temporary HP per hit, and adds temp HP to damage ( 3 X because of the multistrike chainsaw).
I made him a vanguard for the "Add temp HP to strength at start of turn" ability. Void boots are also great, as they give a free charge per kill.

Not even. There's a perk bestwife can take that makes her abilities counteract veil degradation to make the fight safer for your other Psykers.

Idira exists as a fucking tutorial on how to execute your party members and little else. Horrid character in every way.

She is a powerhouse. Even without broken build, she can stun enemies, buff your party members and damage enemies like no tomorrow. And when you use her broken parts of build, she's unstoppable, especially with Cassia, who can buff willpower and endurance, plus, as you said, fix the veil

Owlcat's big AAA game is an Expanse RPG.
I've always wanted more Mass Effect like action RPGs so that's cool, don't know about the setting though. Also they seem kind of late to the Expanse party, does anyone care about the IP anymore?
But really Owlcat can't even finish one game and now they're doing two with higher production values?

It was a good show and the setting has most of what you need for a game - you have enhancements both chemical and cybernetic, monsters (if you want them), human conflict aplenty, unknown regions to explore, ship combat on a variety of scales, Space stations, etc.

Could work well.

On the subject of Rogue Trader, though, I had to give up on it because it just was too easy. Had it on Unfair, there were a couple of settings I could still up but they looked more like they'd just make it less fun than actually more difficult. There's a new DLC coming out and I think somebody said they were going to have a few difficulty balance adjustments in it so maybe that would help. But honestly, only a handful of fights were even making me try.

Yep, she's a must pick. I went all in to her abilities, as forcing the enemy to move gives free opportunity attacks and makes area attacks more effective.
She is a powerhouse.
What build worked with her? I stopped using her as soon as Henrix joined, as she was too unpredidible with Perils of the Warp.
