If anyone out there has any use for fantasy minis, I can't recommend Russian Alternative highly enough. Their take on Legion of Azgorh is objectively superior to that of FW.

Just look at this vicious little asshole.

Ah that made me smile given Chaos Dwarves were favorites of mine; Fantasy could've had some more longevity if Geedubz gave a shit for it before the death spiral started.

Needs more Babylon. The original Chaos Dwarves were great.

He actually looks a lot like the old school CD, except he has a mask and his rifle isn't a blunderbuss. It's a vast improvement over FW, which just look like short Chaos Warriors.

Looks cool and all, but it could be any evil dwarf, not a True and Honest CD. The Bull Centaurs look a lot better than FW too.

Just looks like generic Chaos monsters to me. Contrast with their glorious Russian cousins.

No contest, in my opinion. And they cost like a third as much as shitty FW but are made of the same resin. That's the thing about FW, they're very hit or miss, but even the misses cost and arm and a leg.

Holy shit those Russian bootleg minis are on point. They look better and are probably significantly cheaper to boot

I started up a new Deathwatch campaign yesterday to continue from a Dark Heresy game.

I was squad leader/DMPC Kyros, an apothecary. My teammates were a dark angels devastator, a blood angels librarian, and a black templar assault marine.

Mission one: The inquisition has determined that a chemical plant is a front for a genestealer cult. The librarian and I storm the building and confront a group of workers while our squad mates go around the side to have a look around. The librarian scrutinized the group and determined that there were some genestealer hybrids in the group, which prompted an ambush from a Tyranid warrior and a Termagaunt blob. I rolled highest initiative so I used my brute strength to tear open a chemical vat and trap the warrior in a mass of molten, sticky rubber. Our assault Marine literally punched his way through the brick wall of the facility to gain access. And let our devastator open fire in and wipe the Termagaunt blob, thirty strong, in one attack because of how many crits he landed.

Turning our combined attention to the warrior, I take aimed semi auto shots for a few damage before the librarian issues a charge, misses his melee attack horribly, and gets stuck in the same molten rubber. The warrior fucks him up in melee because why not and the assault snaps a few pistol shots which destroy nearby cover. Devastator moves to one side but takes no shots.

My turn rolls around again and I decide to take a half aim and fire semi auto. I roll severe critical failure and determine I shot the librarian in the back on accident. So I roll damage and get major critical success, which sends the librarian to -1 wounds. Oops.

The assault charges into combat but lands no attacks, though he did dodge the enemy perfectly. Devastator snaps a volley which hits nothing. I fire off another semi auto shot and deal some damage to the warrior, leaving it about half wounds now. The assault takes a few swipes with a chainsword and lands a crit so I rule that the things devourer cannon is broken. The devastator switches to pistol shots because there's an ally in the way and proceeds to absolutely annihilate the conveyor belt behind and to the left of the warrior. With my turn, I go for broke and go full auto to try and down the warrior in one go. I do decently and leave it with about 8 wounds. The assault deals 3 more in melee and perfectly dodges a follow up attack for the devastator to actually kill the thing with a carefully aimed pistol shot.

We stopped here due to time constraints but I'm thinking to evac the librarian and replace him because of his injuries.

A new army just got announced for AoS and they look like shit. 😡

If you thought Tomb Kings had too much personality, and Deathrattle were too creepy, have we got a big-nosed bunch of knob-headed Bone Marines for you!

I'm pretty sure the new rules for 40k are mostly going to be endless spells translated from AoS, which is great, because no one likes them there, either. They're always either too good or completely worthless.

Eh. I was waiting for someone else to do it. I've still got a backlog of dudes to work on, plus I preordered the Clone Wars starter box for Legion, but I'll probably buy it anyway.

I probably shouldn’t buy any after preordering the Clone Wars starter too but I probably will pick this up. I am behind the original SW legion box as well...

I’m usually late when it comes to news, so I was expecting someone else to post it before me.

Raven Guard Chapter Master, Shrike, is now Primaris.

Turns out the Psychic Awakening thing is a new narrative campaign.
Not surprisingly GW's also using this to push new/updated minis, including
Eldar Aspect Warriors.

holy shit could they stick anymore stuff on the model? why didnt they just update his other model? its rather simplistic and far more kino.

I used to play as Drukhari, and I've considered AoS too, but GW is so insanely expensive that if you don't buy any miniatures you can travel all over the whole World and you still have money for drugs and hookers left. They're literal Jews, always raising the prices each 4 or 5 years for no reason at all to scam the fans. I had fun trying 40k's 8th edition, but I already sold my army.

I may play Dawn of War once in a while though. It's an atemporal classic and a much cheaper alternative.

I don't like his hair. It screams 'daddy issues' way more than anything the Traitor Primarchs did.

Generally, I do like are the new Inceptor-style jump packs though.

Thing that bothers me is: why did they go to all the trouble of making a nose for a skeletal construct of all things? As if Nagash really cares about that sort of thing.

Even more bizarre is that none of the other models revealed feature this distracting choice - not even the Mortarch.
