Counterpoint: 99% isopropyl alcohol can cause some resins to turn brittle. Bear this in mind when washing miniatures with lots of fine pointy bits like swords and spears.
There's actually another fun thing 99% isopropyl can do, make it excessively bendy. I've seen more than a few reports over the years of people using isopropyl to strip paint, using it on cast minis and letting it soak overnight, and ending up with a floppy mess(like a spear on a model ends up like a limp noodle). It's best to just avoid it in general with cast resin.

Really, 99% of resin models produced by an actual company and not printed in someone's basement, shouldn't be near isopropyl alcohol for any extended amount of time if at all avoidable.

Yeah, I've discovered if I wash my minis in the isopropyl bath too long, they, uh, droop. A base I printed cracked into pieces as the hollow "walls" tore off. Not sure if after they dry fully over the course of a few days if they regain their regidity.

My current annoyance, the Custodes I'm printing are Truescale, which I should be fine with (I've literally wanted GW to move to this if they do a Custodes relaunch), but you can print them at 90% to match GW scale. Which is really nice. They even come pre-supported. The presupported files were working great for the chest and legs, even at 90%, but the smaller bits like arms and the head, not so much.

I HATE doing supporting for minis. On the plus side, Chitubox Basic is now WAY better than I remember, I've been using it instead of Lychee as of late.

I wonder when the next revolution in 3d printing is going to come? Right now it's just them throwing more resolution at it. I'm guessing we'll need a new tech past resin if we're going to make any new grounds.

I wouldn't count on it. The discussions I've seen surrounding that particular problem is that the isopropyl is leeching shit out, that won't be able to get back into the finished product, and people trying to let things dry in the hopes it would fix it but with no success.

Hopefully, better air filtration and less fumes. Some resins stink less, but still produce crap in the air(just because you can't smell it, doesn't mean it isn't there), some have little filters that help but don't eliminate it. Other printers I've seen needing get a separate filter box or run a hose to a window... it just needs to work without all of the off gassing. Most people can handle rinsing shit, that's fine but the fumes that get produced are intolerable unless you've got so much ventilation you're basically replacing all of the air in the vicinity every couple of minutes. There's a kickstarter for a powder based printer for $4000 or so that made the rounds on youtube the other week, but the surface finish kinda looks like shit for minis and it still requires having a sandblasting cabinet so that's really a non starter for most people.

that nurgle tank he made is - I'm so sorry, I know I am not some world class painter myself - But that thing is HIDEOUS. It looks absolutely terrible. I normally would never call someone elses' painting "terrible", but I make an exception for that THING. It's not "cool gross", it's just gross. And very amateurishly finished. It looks like it actually stinks.

The two problems I see are:

1) The eyes are just lazy 2D badges. Even the Golden Demon parody video where the guy put massive eyeballs on the Space Marine took more effort than that. Without a 3D effect, it looks tacky and artificial. The slightest convex shape would make it look far better.

2) The paint scheme isn't Nurgle. The fleshy scheme just makes it look like a zombie vehicle, and not a vessel of the God of Disease, Decay and Pestilence. It needs to look rotting and rusted - the scheme he used was far too "clean". Classic green and various shades of yellow, orange and brown would have worked in its favour.

Got Battle for Macragge in the mail, obviously the molds have degraded, most visible on the lander.

But other than that it’s a flashback to a better era. Especially the marines, MK7 is still the purest and most beautiful mark.

The one time I got bad minis from GW I literally called the customer service line told them that the minis they sent me was screwed up and that they're paying for shipping for me to send them back never get why people don't do that people send you defective products send them back.
If I'm paying you $120.00 for something I want it to work.
But I did finally find a place that makes kivas cane minis
for some reason GW doesn't ever wanna make miniatures of any of the most popular book series

GAUNT'S GHOSTS

That's the only one that really got them and they look terrible like seriously I'm just gonna go get third party stuff.
Also I do not pay for any of the books in any of the series unless I'm getting a physical copy$40.00 for an MP3 of an audio book eat GW.
audiobooks for 9 hours of professional voice actor is about 5 grand.
I never get why people allow themselves to be ripped off that way when it comes to audio books I just pirate all of them.
Digital copies of audio your books should cost 10 bucks at the most

I'd love more named Hero character models from GW.
The /tg/ retard force is foaming at the mouth for merely mentioning names. You need to make your own fanfiction character or else you don’t fit in.

Don't forget that you also need to kitbash/sculpt/model and print it yourself, and accept that it can't ever do anything even remotely unique because at the end of the day he's just going to be a generic lieutenant or captain.

At least if you're playing crusade(good luck finding a group willing to commit to that for more than a handful of games), you can end up with a character that isn't generic and has fought in your own local narrative.

Just heard they canceled the public beta for people who pre-ordered, something that I'm sure was the reason for most pre-orders. I tend to laugh at retards who contribute to this practice but even I feel bad for them. Also can't they be sued for that?
GW is sitting on a gold mine with the book characters.

The Night Lords of Talos’s squad and Octavia, Septimus and their baby boy Decimus would sell out instantly.

Like they did Uriel but didn’t do his special friend Honsou, which is bull. Or Vorx from the Death Guard, a chaos lord with personality of grandpa.
They've been holding out on us for named character models for ages now, and even then you have to pray the models are actually good.

Anyone who pre-orders shit gets what they deserve. As for suing, maybe. it could technically be argued to be a breach of contract, but successfully suing seems unlikely, even assuming you can find a lawyer who'd take it on.

I'm...fucking retarded, I thought I typed out Space Marine 2 but nope *sigh*
The preorder bonus for space marine 2 is the stupid 4 day early access(in other words, late access for people not preordering the game). Not a beta. What is there to sue for, that you registered for a public beta that didn't happen?

Now if they cancelled the 4 day early access thing, sure you might have a case for a suit for that. But that isn't what happened.

My cowboy necrons have been coming along nicely, trying to get an old west style for the bases, I want to put tumbleweeds in, but I can't find any pre-made ones.

Strange, guess I got my sources wrong, was seeing "public beta" several times from different people. Assuming "public beta" is the 4 day early unlock, in which case I hope those people who confused the two terms as the same thing are castrated. That being said, the devs even said it themselves for the multiplayer, which is what I initially meant.

Insert stereotypical cowboy Wild West sayings. "This Monolith ain't big enough for the two of us." I guess saying "He never sleeps, He says that he will never die" is fitting here.
