Lol, they're pulling a Deathly Hallows/Breaking Dawn and splitting the last Siege of Terra book into multiple volumes. Gotta milk it, after all.

Also, Dorn's book is pretty good, but I have so many issues with Gav Thorpe's sentence structure and punctuation. My man loves to use run-on sentences and commas where he should have periods.

Immediate Squats reveal at the start of the stream. A named character or two, an apothacary / techmarine eq and a psyker.

Army box + codex coming in September. Similar release as Black Templar, Beastsnagga Orks, and I'd presume Sisters of Battle.

Einhyr Champion, CC character, looks like a HQ in melee terminator. Thunder Hammer or Antimatter(!) Axe with a combi-bolter with three barrels? Guess they weren't shitting when they said the Squats had full STC tech.

Uthar the Destined, the only Named Character. He's based on the double-rock HQ unit. Carrying a Plasma Blade (a significantly better Power Sword). Actually, sounds like it's just an additional sprue that you can use to make the generic HQ into Uthar, a-la that Imperial Knights special character.

Special LE LE Army box exclusive Squat codex:

Addon for the Berserkers. Note the Plasma Axe doesn't have a blade when it's not on. Grenades burrow and pop up from teh ground.

1661991774447.png
Ironkin in the bottom left, the other 3 are "COGs", basically Tau drones / animal tier AI. Techmarine equivalent. Ranged HQ choice.

1661991884324.png
Genetically engineered psyker / priest.

Squat version of a Rhino. Main battle tank. Biggest model in the launch. Armor + void shields (!) + baneblane style gun. One option is a better raingun than the Tau.

Horus is getting a new model to represent the Chaos gods juicing him up with warp dust.

Seems all the primarchs are getting new models, quote, "representing each of the Primarchs at the height of the Heresy – whether they’re fully under the sway of Chaos, or rallying to defend the Imperium in its darkest hour – giving us a fresh look at the driving characters of this epic saga as they lead their Legions into the biggest battles."

Jaghatai Khan just got his, though?
Honestly, I don't see why the other primarchs need one.
But, does this mean the Daemon Primarch versions of Mortarion, Magnus, and now Angron will be playable in HH?
Is this how Daemon Primarch Fulgrim will get his model?
Will Omegon get a model?
So many questions.

The Khan's model doesn't have his bike, so maybe that's how they're planning to give it to him. But yeah, aside from maybe producing alternate daemon primarch models for Angron, Fulgrim, Magnus, and Morty, I don't see any real reason for this. I also wonder what they mean to do with Ferrus Manus.

I liked the squats but otherwise fairly boring reveals. A new Ogor? "Buy the Primarchs all over again you paypig"? Nah man.

Still not digging the berserkers, hopefully the butchers look cool.
Side note, if I read the press release for super saiyan horus is correct. they are going to be redoing all the primarchs AGAIN. Which I am mostly not down with, besides like... a new fulgrim to fix his face.

They're starting to grow on me, especially that psyker, but damn every single female option they've shown looks horrendous.
Also the wheels on the APC seem kinda small to me. Saves costs for manlet ladders I suppose.

I like the model, but I can't believe they're STILL making these niggers in resin. Certainly, primarch's must sell well enough to justify plastic, right? After those two black library space marines I thought for sure that the character series was going to plastic.

I ended up buying a starter box of tyranid models to begin a small army, but after assembling the first 12 gaunts out of around 36 or so I think I might have made a small mistake starting with a horde-based army.

Cmon GW, you're going to release the primarchs again, how tough can it be to give me an updated Asurmen. The dude is literally half the size of a fully armored primarina. I'll even pay your new stupid mark up on characters.

When the leaks came out, didn't they say that the Eldar refresh was coming in two phases. So we are done with phase 1 and supposedly the second part is next year. Also I remember some of the leaks talking about 3 brand new models like the shroud runner. Though at this point I don't know how they can justify new models when they need to update the rest of the aspect warriors and their Phoenix Lord. (Please give updated dire avengers as well, I know they are already in plastic, but they need some more polish.

Aren’t Tyranids having a range refresh soon? If so Eldar players may be waiting a while.

Yeah horde armies aren’t the best to start with but paint in batches of six and you’ll be done in no time.

Squat codex leaked. Looking for a PDF.

At a glance they seem very strong. Quite tough, excellent stratagems and army bonuses, trivially easy to get Judgment tokens, etc

Several new weapon types introduced:

  • Beam weapons hit every eligible target between firing unit and target unit
  • HunTR weapons don’t seem to have any special rules, just flat number of shots
  • Ion weapons are mentioned and profiles shown but the rules are not in the leaks that I can see
  • The really fun one! MagnaRail weapons ignore invuls AND on a wound roll of 6, the damage spills over. And yes, auto-wounds count as a wound roll of 6.
Psychic discipline:

  • WC5 gain a CP that doesn’t count against your refund limit
  • WC6 to select a friendly core or character unit within 12 to get +1T and 6+++ until next psychic phase
  • WC6 witchfire power, roll some dice and do MW on 4+
  • WC4 witchfire power, roll 2D6+number of judgment tokens against leadership. If you roll higher, one model destroyed (can’t target characters/monsters/vehicles)
  • WC8 turn off invul for one unit within 12”
  • WC6 malediction, if you beat Leadership on 3D6 they can’t do actions / ongoing actions fail and they get -1 to hit
Too many leagues to type out all the bonuses but they look overall quite strong.

Leagues have a rule called Void Armour. Wounds and damage cannot be rerolled all incoming AP reduced by 1. Every unit in the book has this ability.

Edit: Comments are apocalyptic. The Codex is apparently all the power creep of 8th and 9th combined into one stupidly OP codex.

"Reading through the book, it just seems like a collection of all the worst balanced design choices in 9th.
Turn off rerolls, easy invuln access from the custom to avoid paying points for it, tau level guns with a vastly superior hail of doom on top, fight on death, psychic powers that are far too cheap, a load of 1 cp strats that cost 2cp for others, stupidly easy secondaries. All in a fairly cheap set of datasheets."

"Of course we’ll need to see actual performance, but on paper, this looks like a clearly gassed up codex, and power creep personified. Having Armor of Contempt AND the buffed Salamanders/Iron Warriors tactic just built-in army wide seems like it’ll be a bit problematic, especially in Ymir (who look like real strong frontrunners).
I’m willing to give the Judgement system some leniency, since it is something new and I think GW have earned some wiggle room with the quarterly updates and balance dataslates. But I can’t imagine this doing poorly, it’ll take a while for the army to make a splash since it’s entirely new. But once it’s “solved” things are gonna be rough"

B&C has some salt: "GW seems to have combined all the most powerful and despised mechanics from all the other codexes into one faction. Yet another pathetic dumpster fire from their rules design team. 40k is such a mess.

Tau markerlights but better and never go away and many ways to apply them automatically. Armor of contempt. Access to 5+++ and -1 damage. CP regen that stacks. Army wide auto wounding, with counts as 6s. Double obsec. Fights last debuff. Mass mortal wound ability. Remove psychic buffs/debuffs. Ignore move modifiers. 1 cp heroic intervention for any infantry or biker unit. No reroll to wound vs the army. Nasty melee units with fight on death. Tons of cheap strats to shoot into combat, teleport around, or reroll hits or wounds. Ways to ignore invul in shooting or melee. Damage splashover like mortal wounds on some high damage ranged guns. Several ways to ignore cover."

So yeah the entire army has the Armor of Contempt relic and Salamanders/IW tactic built in, for free. One of their new damage types shoots through shielding units and damages both the target and the chaff, another ignores invulns outright and has splash damage on 6s.

LOL. GW literally reusing Blender files to create Berserkers out of Primaris marines. They're 100% going to make the CSM match Primaris scale for no reason other than it's easier.

I know someone mentioned in the thread mentioned having some pdf files for some 40k books while ago so anyone got any spare toilet paper scans of The Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer, I found a copy of the original 2003 version but nothing on the Damocles Gulf Edition.
