That last tidbit almost sounded like the Exodite guys since there was a HUGE change of direction from the original Exodite trailers to the final one but whatever. That being said, if details DOES leak about what happened to Syama Pederson following his "hiring" by GW, we might hit some real shit. The GW closet can't stay shut forever.

Any thoughts on the WH40K live action by Henry Cavill?
Personally, I'm hoping they cast Anya Taylor Joy as Yvraine.

Imagine Zack Snyder making a Warhammer 40K movie. Imagine the screen going slo-mo every time the Emperor swings his flaming sword.
Zack Snyder is both the perfect and worst person to make a Warhammer 40K movie. Then again, most of the 40K original movies and TV shows are quite unwatchable, mmmyes.

Exactly. At least the style Snyder used for 300, the Watchmen movie, and the DCEU is perfect for war movies, grimdark atmosphere movies, and movies with superhuman characters like the Emperor and his Primarchs.

I'm hoping he goes for something like Gaunt's Ghosts or Eisenhorn instead of the Space Marines. I think that Space Marines should be used sparingly and only in the moments of most dire need for the human heroes in the story. Making them regular characters with dialogue and a constant presence in the narrative would diminish what should be an earth-rending impact of the God-Emperor's Angels of Death.

Basically, the Astartes should only show up when needed to demonstrate how utterly FUCKED the enemies of mankind are, or to rescue the protagonist characters when they are up against the wall. See the first Space Marine 2 reveal trailer for a great example of what I'm talking about. A bunch of Guardsmen are fighting and losing against the Nids, then a trio of Ultras show up and DESTROY the Nids monsters.

I see that Necromunda Hired Gun is on sale, is it worth it?
It's a fairly fine Doom Eternal type clone, can be very janky at places and don't expect much story. But, does capture the atmosphere of 40k and Necromunda, plus the upgrade mechanics you can get by doing contracts for money fits the whole merk vibe.

I don't know. Rebel moon was basically a mindless "looks cool" movie, and a mixed ripoff of SW/40k so I'm not sure I want Snyder any closer to 40k. Abnett is bad enough.

basically this:

I think he worked on the Pariah Nexus one and they're also apparently continuing his Astarters project from youtube.
Pariah Nexus sucked dick, and I'm a big Necron fanboy. The visuals were mostly great, especially when they needed to be. The story and characters were boiled shit.

The sister looked cute.
Danica, and I hated her guts. Her imaginary friend was constantly being heretical and Sa'kan should have killed her for cowardice and insubordination. I really wanted her to be a badass but her shitty, faithless attitude fucks everything over. Her mouth animations sucked, but her close ups looked fantastic.

I think I've said it before but I think the best way to go about doing a 40K TV show is to make it an anthology series like the Twilight Zone or the Outer Limits. The basic reason is the universe is so vast that basically anything is possible in it. Ya could have one episode where they're on the Spirit of Eternity meeting a DAoT AI while the next episode takes place on a feudal world that's basically a medieval werewolf story where they're hunting down some creature that turns out to be a daemon or possibly gene stealer.

Think it makes the most sense for a general TV show with 40K having as much background lore as it does.

Im leaning towards Eisenhorn as a first outing. You can show a lot more expanded universe with inquisitors and it wouldn't be hard to expand on the books and make more original content.

I'm just not hopeful for any TV show being made today. They will crowbar in modern politics and BS into it. Just look at what happened with other ''dudes in armor'' sci-fi TV shows. The Mandalorian had the titular Mando go from the galaxy's most badass babysitter to full-on ''MUH KWEEN'', as if the Game of Thrones writers were writing that crap. Halo didn't even try to be faithful to how Chief was in the games, and it wound up being a total shitshow that alienated its core audience. The people in charge do not have the fans' interests at heart. Things aren't like what they were in the old days, like in 2008, when the fans were able to bully Bethesda into changing Fallout 3's laugh riot of an ending. Companies can and will tell fans to suck it, even as everything crashes and burns around them.

I can surmise that we'd at least get a good season and a half of action before it turns into woke preaching, and that's me being generous. Especially since there was a lot of leftist screeching with the OG 40K lore, so the Leftists don't even need an excuse; they can just copy and paste that shit, and point to the OG 40K lore being written by people who were ass-mad about Margaret Thatcher being Prime Minister. They'll just focus it on having every religious/military figure being a colossal chump while the ''real heroes'' are the common folk who suffer under their boot. Imagine a series where some female/POC guardsmen are the reasonable, logical people who handle problems using their brains, while the Space Marines and the Sisters of Battle charge in like indoctrinated Wahhabis and get creamed by whatever horror mankind is up against, and the Commissars are trying to force our ''heroes'' to do the same, at gunpoint.

This is especially true when one looks at what company is backing this show. Amazon's influence on the LOTR prequels and the Boys has been a rather ''woke'' experience.

I imagine budget is going to be a big constraint to what can be achieved with live-action 40k since we're talking about a fantastical sci-fi setting in which all costumes, props, and sets probably have to be built from scratch, aside from wilderness film locations. With this in mind, I expect an inquisitor story to be most appropriate for a live-action show in order to keep the cost reasonable, antagonists being either a Chaos or Genestealer cult. I'd hate for it to be Eisenhorn, though, because even if it was an original adventure, I don't want to end up being disappointed in the character adaptions compared to the novels, and the galaxy is supposed to be a big place with plenty of completely new characters to follow. Lots of Space Marines or big battlefield action can be reserved for an animated series or live-action movie.

Think of various Star Wars shows as well as the Halo show to imagine what you'll see on screen for money spent, these being some of the most expensive TV shows ever made. Will Amazon put that kind of money into 40k media? Maybe, considering how much money they had to spend on Rings of Power. Or maybe the budget will be tighter as with The Expanse.
