The problem with tabletop war gaming is that it gets really boring after a while playing I prefer games like battletech for the simple reason that you can switch between war gaming and actual RPG easily for some reason warhammer never tried this .
.
And funny enough HG wells who created the first manuals for war gaming actually has logistics we're way transport and rules for basically everything.
I played a few rounds of little wars it's actually pretty well written something that's over 120 years old
place for RPG's being dead the problem is that D&D doesn't innovate whatsoever of fixing the problem of minor action major action move action.
D&D's been out of ideas since 3.5
I would design TTRPG but one there's no money in it to every other person I've ever had the displeasure of working with on any project was an ******* and I've worked in construction for the better part of five years and those people are babies people think the blue collar field is this glorious thing of tough men no it's a bunch of drug addicts who can't fit in anywhere else.
It has nothing to do with ideology liberal conservative every TTRPG designer I've ever worked with that's like the five when they don't get their way this one guy was particularly nasty who would never stop working on top of me and working on the things I was working on.
And a few decent guys I know in the industry constantly overshadowed by people who court controversy to sell games
