The problem with tabletop war gaming is that it gets really boring after a while playing I prefer games like battletech for the simple reason that you can switch between war gaming and actual RPG easily for some reason warhammer never tried this .
.
And funny enough HG wells who created the first manuals for war gaming actually has logistics we're way transport and rules for basically everything.
I played a few rounds of little wars it's actually pretty well written something that's over 120 years old

place for RPG's being dead the problem is that D&D doesn't innovate whatsoever of fixing the problem of minor action major action move action.
D&D's been out of ideas since 3.5
I would design TTRPG but one there's no money in it to every other person I've ever had the displeasure of working with on any project was an ******* and I've worked in construction for the better part of five years and those people are babies people think the blue collar field is this glorious thing of tough men no it's a bunch of drug addicts who can't fit in anywhere else.

It has nothing to do with ideology liberal conservative every TTRPG designer I've ever worked with that's like the five when they don't get their way this one guy was particularly nasty who would never stop working on top of me and working on the things I was working on.
And a few decent guys I know in the industry constantly overshadowed by people who court controversy to sell games

Something that’s bothered me since getting back into 40K is the amount of tourneyfags that just can’t enjoy the game unless they’re winning. I was matched up twice against 2 different custodes players post June 2024 updates. I lost against the first guy, which was a fair game where we both had a good game. The second guy ragequit after I decided to dump all of the fire from my castigators and exorcists into his anti-tank tank and his charges all came up short. Like he could have still had his guys run up on my tanks and kill them after shooting up the sisters but he decided to pack up his stuff and gave me a poor score on my sportsmanship card.

I really want to dive into Necromunda for this reason

Compfagging for the sake of compfagging really killed some of my interest in actually playing, ive been appreciating some groups that take a more fluffy or casual approach

I would say customers got shaken up by GW's shitty femstodes nigging out, but as the autists in this thread show, that's not the case.

It is just a recession. Plastic crack isn't cheap and inflation is through the roof. Once the economy stabilises, they'll be back. The price is like the oldest warhammer meme.

I’ve only ever seen people online complaining about femstodes. Nobody at any of the 5 stores I play at have ever said anything about them. Price is a whole different matter, as many of the players are either resorting to 3D printing, scrap building or a combination of the two.

What everyone else has already pointed out. We are on a dinghole recession, GW keeps jacking up their prices, the game's rules are a meme afterthought at this stage. There's only so much you can do by yourself. You've got to have a friend group to battle and they've got to clear out a whole ass afternoon, which as life trudges on becomes more and more unlikely.
That leaves only the single-living working man playerbase, and by and large if they're nerd enough, they're spending their cash on vidya, anime, or enthusiast hobbies like cars.

It’s hard to make time for games, especially when you have kids. The time you need to spend building, painting on top of the time for playing can be a deterrent for a lot of people. It’s why a lot of the people I play with like to do so on weekends.

I don’t really care about stuff like the femstodes anymore because that’s mostly just people online complaining even though it’s dumb, but the jacked up prices are a real problem. Yeah, it’s not an issue if you have a decent paying job or whatever, but a lot of these young men getting in are college age or whatever and the price of entry can be prohibitive for them. Yeah, killteam is cheaper than 40K to get into, but why would anyone consider that a solution? 3D printing is another solution that eventually these companies are going to have to come to terms with. I’ve seen people try to mention that GW could sell the files for miniatures to be 3D printed and the only people I’ve seen have a problem with it are manchildren like furries. The same people that’ll buy 3k points worth of stuff and post it onto reddit.

On a separate note I won’t touch any of the new sororitas boxes, I’ve got more than enough sisters. Why bother with the army of faith box set? For a canoness with a jump pack? The exorcist tank that could have been put in the combat patrol box instead of both a 10-man squad of flagellants or 5-man squad of mace and shield nuns?

I feel really goddamn old remembering when I got into the game with 5E and people were complaining about the price hikes then, back in ye olde days when a character model was between $20-30 and an army starter box was in the ballpark of $90.

I remember them crying because they made grey knights plastic and slowly started to phase away citadel specialty units.

Femstodes didn't amount to shit and GW already announced in advance of their annual financials that they did so well they made a bonus payout to employees. Being in a recession hasn't done crap to GW.

I have seen some new doom and gloom that the aos 4.0 starter didn't sell out instantly yet, and that somehow means it'll sit around in stacks for years like the 3.0 starter. I doubt that's the case. Leviathan for 40k didn't sell out immediately, and was available in stores for months and within a year of launch is finally starting to be harder to come by. If they didn't overproduce skaventide like they did dominion with those shitty swamp ork "kruel boyz" things no one wanted, it'll be fine. Skaven and sigmarines have a following, shitty scrawny orks didn't.

That's a lot of hobbies though. Cars? Going to a car show will eat up a day(more than that really due to prep) and there's a reason a track day isn't referred to as a track afternoon. Even if the game was actually playable in the 3 hour span a 2000 point game is supposed to be based off of the rules(but 1000 points is 2 hours?) that's still 3 hours, plus your travel to and from a place to play, setup, putting crap away, it would still be an afternoon.

We should be seeing their yearly financial report in a couple of weeks. Even though we're in a recession and people supposedly hate 40k more than ever, they still probably saw an increase.

They jacked up the prices, so duh, they aren't in the red.

The niggercattle will be back in full force, as soon as the economy gets back up.

Hope they triple prices.

GW can't keep this up forever. We are slowly but surely approaching the day when each faction's standard battle tanks reach $100 USD. The economy is continually crumbling, and GW's solution in raising prices to "combat inflation" isn't helping . Paypigs will eventually be forced to focus on necessities rather than luxuries. Just like many other companies they are focused more on short term gain, rather than long term sustainability.

Like funko pops, for consoomers they are a necessity. Especially if they add pride paints.
Buy Floid Black for only 35 dollars!

You're forgetting that they dumped something like $30 million worth of Funko pops into landfills. Unless they continue pulling a primaris on other factions, they will hit a point where their growth will stop.

The debtors custodians of all ladies and homosexuals true chads play the imperial guard they've held the line for 1000 years what is your excuse space marine come buckets

All custodes players are niggers.
With the exception of one player, every custodes player I’ve encountered has been some kind of tryhard that cares more about winning the game than actually having fun. the models are all terrible and they’re pretty much made to just destroy every other faction.
