SM2 has a leaked black guy with an eyepatch head as customization which is titled "Space Wolf" also. Previously they made SW champion skin which was primarily for the 'angry black guy' character, too. It's so funny how consistent this weird shit is now.
I want to ask why don't they just develop one of their more Africa/black dude space marine chapters, but I already know the reason and it makes me angry.

The religious themes in 40k really only resemble Christianity on a surface level, in truth they could apply to many different religions. Perhaps they do. For the most part,
While Rick Priestly said it was a coincidence, the cult is actually closer to Astec myths. God isn't all-powerful, and the sacrifices in his name are needed for him to continue alive. There is no original sin, no personal relation with God, he's closer to Prometheus or Huītzilōpōchtli, paying for stealing the fire, and fighting an unending war against a legion every night.
Is it just me, or does the new Titius mini look a bit like the Uriel Ventris one?
People joked in the past that Titus is basically a discount Ventris.
It's disappointing Forges never got any sequels. Even one more book would have been nice.
McNeil indicated on a now-deleted Twitter post that he was doing it. Likely it's the same as Pandaemonium: he finished, but GW didn't greenlit the release yet.

Black Space Wolves were a thing for a good while. While I know it's because "look, diversity", I can play devil's advocate on that marines recruit from entire planets, and so people there shouldn't be the same universal group, as shown in books like Spear of the Emperor.
But, we all know GW is not showing white people from Nocturne or white people in the White Scars, after all, only "insert European country" were always diverse, the rest of the planet has always been ethnostates.
Also, how many people actually know the Celestial Lions, tbf?

Interesting. if anything I assumed they were trying to d a DUNE style warning about zealotry and men who would call themselves messiah.

It's more than 'look diversity' they could push chapters like the white scars into the forefront, but it's easier to take an already existing idea which is popular and cram diversity into it. I like your observation about not sticking white dudes in whitescars, its a good point I hadnt even thought of.

I think they are taking a thing that already makes money and are trying to widen an audience for it in the laziest and safest way possible. It ruins the entire reason people were drawn to it in the first place. Deep down these designers know that never in a million years could something like west africa inspired marines sell kits, it just cant stand on its own two legs. No one would buy that shit, so they have to inject into something that can.

As cool as white scars are do I think that they could be the new face of 40k? There are already plenty of fans for them. What ever the case, the marketing research probably indicates otherwise.

In the lore it's true that space marine chapters will typically recruit any suitable candidate regardless of background, but the space wolves are a bit unique in that they have an actual culture and traditions that exist beyond military service. They do things their own way, it's just strange that they particularly would recruit from outside of Fenris, I thought they only recruited from Fenris, did the lore change or are there black vikangs on Fenris?

Right, most of the iconography just happens to be Christian themed and not actually Christian. You can use it as a general criticism of religion or fanaticism, so I think it's dumb when people are like "erm actually 40K is meant to be a criticism of Christian dogma because the Emperor is implied to be Jesus and is called the Omnissiah" and so on and so forth. Nah, it reminds me of when a show like Neon Genesis Evangelion has a bunch of weird Christian symbolism in it because it looks cool, and then everybody reads too much into it.

Careful talking about this in this forum though, treat it with the utmost respect at all times! Esteemed Farmer @quarter_grifter has been seething about it for four straight days and finally managed to choke out a rebuttal this morning, I have to go into hiding now to protect my minis and life, farewell.

People think space wolves are Vikings, but theyre actually just nigger-coded.

>turn into animals
Need I say more
>cope about their "not magic"
Niggers cope about not being gay (basically the same thing)
>constant fighting even amongst each other
Self explanatory
>getting fucked up off cheap and powerful liquor
Self explanatory
>obsessed with "personal legacy"
sagas are basically just rap songs
>burned down a prosperous, good boi white people world cuz their gibs got taken
(Magnus dindu nuffin)
Space wolves are space niggers. You cannot change my mind.

Also battleforces coming out for preorder on saturday. Probably gonna get the SM one, looks really solid and I need basically all of those units.

Captain Acheran and Chairon died off screen in some Hiveworld fighting nids. Lol. Lmao.
Lmao. I can’t say I really care because Acheran is such a non-entity, even if I still think it’s poor storytelling.
Kind of surprised they killed Chairon too. Guess two black ultramarines really is one too many for Gee Dubs.

Wonder how saber and focus feel about this.

They're both nothing characters to me, honestly(what kinda Captain wears phobos armor and doesnt trick it out to look not-gay?), but it is kinda surprising they'd axe Chairon yeah. But with Titus shacking up with Sgt Metarus(?) I guess you're right. There's only room for one Nigga in the squad.

Started to reread End and the Death part 3. I rushed through it when it came out and on reread I forgot how Abnett really went way too far in his descriptions and battles. Just walls of text detailing every minutia of what gun is tracking what and weapon systems doing what. I noticed he did that a lot in Gaunt’s Ghost series but man. Feel like at times the George Lucas “I may have gone too far in a few places” plays in my head reading through it.

I'm actually bummed about Chairon. The space marines from the time of the Heresy have such good story telling potential that doesn't seem to be utilized.

>introduce new nigga marine for diversity points
>people actually like him because in spite of simple characterization, he is pretty chill and well VA-ed
>replace him with offscreen other nigga marine people are just going to paint as the dead nigger, its literally just a beard color change

Guess someone with extreme Dyslexia at GW saw "kill the ginger" written in their narrative whiteboard and relayed the wrong message first

Honestly I don't see Vikings working for loyalist chapters, maybe renegades.

They dont explore often (most Marines just either follow enemy alerts or focus on protecting specific zones), they dont trade (either in money or in goods, pretty much only the Space Sharks do that as far I remember), they dont act as mercenaries, when they raid, its to destroy a target and/or defend, and rarely to loot.

Checking up, he is from 8th ed (so 2017), but he didnt even have a helmetless model until recently. Yep hes as much of a brother genericus as you can be, maybe only behind of the 3 guys who became chapter master of the Imperial Fists in a row.

"We have to go now. Our planet needs us."

Note: Acheran and Chairon died on the way to their home planet

Seriously though that's a little clunky, why develop these dudes if they're not going to show up in the next game. Maybe somebody will write a book about it.

There's no way Space Scandinavia could exist in a fictional setting nowadays and actually have a purely Scandinavian population. You WILL have niggers in your Nordic-themed super soldier faction (Space Mongolia is allowed to be purely Asiatic, though).

I don't think the vidya-only people are going to be impressed to find out that two characters died offscreen (especially Chairon) when Space Marine 3 rolls around.

Think the fuck up re Chairon and Acheron is not releasing the story ahead of the models, even the article states there's more to come later though it would be funnier if it ended up the two of them were sent to Deathwatch for a bit whilst Leandros has been sent too after he told Guiliman he can't rewrite the codex!

As for Titus being knock off Ventris, would say it's probably the basis for him as well as this was also when HH series was giving Guiliman's views on the codex being guidance, rather than "holy writ"-actions that lead Ventris being sent on penitent mission and fresh-from-scout-company noob Leandros's perception of Titus being corrupted (not getting into the fact that he is somehow able to contact an Inquistor in the first place without going through the chapter, reckon that's not in the codex either!), it's also GW moving away from Ward's spiritual liege pish and giving actual character to the Ultras.

Maybe it would’ve made sense for get this, chapter unique dreadnoughts to come back and make Scotty the Ultramarine Bjorn as the named Dread option within the kit and for Chairon, make him an optional build in a new Tyrannic War Vets kit.

Boom, no need to send them back to their home planets and no new HQ, plus you can run the gang together. Me and my bros bonded over “they’re literally us” with Titus, Gadriel and Chairon, they were fun, not complex but fun.

Metaurus isn’t, Metaurus for some reason had mission command in Secret Level despite Titus being his superior. Metaurus is the reason the characters in SM2 swing the axe like idiots.

Or just make Titus’s command squad MARINES.

Titus: Captain
Gadriel: Ancient
Chairon: Company Veteran
Metaurus: Company Veteran
Malum: Company Champion

I'm fine with space Rome having black dudes and chinese guys, but Scandinavia is so aggressively European it makes no fucking sense. It will always seem out of place.
