Warhammer 40k

The gist of it is the same, yeah, but the process of connecting with the machine spirit of a titan is way more involved than a knight.

I see a little man piloting the Knight. Are they like Titans with a princeps? The impression I got from playing Freeblade (the poorfag phone game where you're a Dark Angels Questoris) was that they were more like a Dreadnought in that you're permanently fused to it.
Yeah, Knight pilots are closer to a Titan princeps than a Dreadnought. They connect to the Knight with a Throne Mechanicum, which has a neural interface system like in the Titans so they can interface with the Knight's machine spirit. They strap in, link up, get slotted into the Knight, and off they go. It is different from a Titan in that the Throne retains a mental echo of all the previous pilots and rewrites the user's mind with a strong sense of fealty and reverence for their ancestors so they don't get pissy about having twenty generations of dead nobles hissing in their ear while they're fighting. Chaos Knights do tend to absorb their pilots, though.

There's even rules support for the pilot popping out and running around taking potshots with a pistol after his Knight is destroyed; it's only on Canis Rex, but in principle that's how it should work across the board (and on most other vehicles too, really).

If you're interested in how knights work, what their pilots do when they aren't in them, how they can be controlled without the mental link, the trial to take command of one, politics of knight families, etc. Assassinorum: Kingmaker is all about that.

Hilariously, there are some titan princeps that are more like a dreadnought pilot in an amniotic sack, not because they're the equivalent of a meat nugget that would otherwise be dead, but because they got it setup so they never have to leave.

Jump-Pistolwhip-Jump is the new meta.
Tau can now do upie-downie shenanigans like GK, great. It releasing this close to 11th kinda suggests that deep strike, scout, infiltrate, and any rules pertaining to advanced deployment are getting reworked.

How is that even remotely close? It's just a fall back at the end of the fight phase(so after it's already been hit in melee) and basically useless on your own turn because it's only 6" so you're just getting charged again on the opponent's turn. And you can't use any enhancements that could allow you to put them in reserves(retaliation cadre has one) because they're epic heroes.

Just finished Volpone Glory. Was on my "to read" pile for almost 3 years. Was unsure about it because it was a "series" that hasnt gotten a sequel yet, so I wasnt sure if it was gonna be any good (plus its a spinoff of the tanith books)

There was some usual dumb shit (woman beats huge male boxer because *fast* and *precise*) but overall I enjoyed it. Really walked the knife edge of "these are the main characters, you're meant to like them but they are awful people" that a regiment like the Volpone need.

Typical low plot bolter porn but worth the read if you enjoy that.

Picking up vagabond squadron next

16hrs for that is pretty damn good man. What detailing do you want to do though?
Gonna clean up some of the dry brushing and wash, add decals and try to make some of the edges straighter, especially on that stupid white paint. Taking pictures always highlights bits that could be better, so I figure I'll come back to it in a couple of days when I'm refreshed and really hone in on the details.

You can probably improve the gap in the tread cover by putting some glue near the front and holding it closed for a minute. I keep a cheap pair of spring clamps from harbor freight to hold it shut while I use ultra thin on the bare plastic but super glue would work in this case.

A good trick with long parts like that is to dry fit to make sure you dont need to shave down any nubs in the way, then glue the center before working down to the ends so you don't stress the plastic in a way that it wants to spring open when going from end to end.

Dark skin and white hair work for anime as the person isn't really even supposed to be a specific ethnicity.
For other media? Yeah, it looks weird.
Grotesque, dysgenic, flawed, abominable, impure, cringe, horrible, ugly, imperfect. There’s plenty of ways to describe the attempts to make it seems like “those people” fit in the legions.

They don’t.

Read Valdors book and I gotta say, shit was fucking boring. Best parts were when the Thunder Warriors were part of whatever was happening. Also I think this is the only thing I've read that actually had Astarte in it, and if they were intending to make her out to be a stupid cunt, they did a bang up job. Didn't learn anything new and I like the Custodes and Valdor less than I did before. 4/10.

Doing this fuck huge audio drama collection now, called "Endless War". Some of have been pretty meh, others have been fucking fantastic. My only real gripe with these audio dramas is how low budget they are. The SFX they use come from the first royalty free sound library you can find. I'm talking "generic medieval battlefield sounds 05" type lazy while the narrator is telling you about booter fire. Clashes with the overall very good performances of the voice actors.
Jonathan Keeble is once again the MVP. This fuckin dude has one of the best voices I've ever heard, and the range he's got is very impressive.

Like most of the HH primarch books(Yes I know Valdor isn't a primarch), it's barely about the title character. Valdor basically had fuck all to do with anything, it was more of an insight into the last bit before the great crusade started, the beginnings of the imperium, Astarte being a dumb bitch, a high lord of terra(I forget her title) learning her place, and so on. It's very much an administrative and world building book and is in line with Vaults of Terra and Watchers of the Throne. Yes, Valdor is still a boring character.

Yeah I think my issue is that the world building it did just wasn't new to me, and the character stuff was less than interesting. Except Malcador. I liked him, always do. He's been pretty consistent in my readings when he shows up. Might jinx myself though.

Going to use the Hibou Khan model for my master of descent in my DA army because it might be one of the best looking marine poses in a while. Can shave off the Scars stuff easily enough, dagger may not be worth it and buckle should be easy to make plain. Is the haft/grip of his dao-thing too asian to be the haft/grip of a knights hammer?

The rant is the best part.
Is he bitching because the Tau are narrative pets who don’t interact as they should with the setting or because he’s a Tau fanboy.

My bitching about the Tau isn’t “they aren’t grim dark enough.” It’s more they actively piss me off for being retarded in table top and lore. Genestealers should rape them. Doesn’t matter if it’s “muh science” or “muh Etheraels” or “muh kroot”, they are a short lived, fast reproducing species with built in pheromone control and a social structure that would only enable them.

The entire bullshit with Psykers pisses me off too. They have how many humans? Not one has ever fucking caused a demon invasion? Oh wait they can fucking build Necron pylons or they pull out a psychic race out of their ass? Muh Etheraels can suppress the warp? They aren’t blanks either, but somehow do it for everyone. If it was drug based than wow! Guess the Dark Age of Technology and Big E are pretty stupid?

Also the fucking FTL and near light shit. They retconned it because barring the fucking necrons no one has warpless FTL.

My issue with then is that they are some gay commie space Maoist bullshit out of Star Trek (@HTTP Error 404 may know what I mean) or they are duplicitous xenos (every fucking faction).

Most of the Grimdark shit they do is pathetic because it just makes them gayer. They have psychic brain worms that brainwash people? Sounds like something the Dark Eldar should have? They chemically lobotomize people! Servitors, but most servitors are clones. They actually just kill all the humans to feed to the Kroot! Actually okay, but Dark Eldar again.

Nah, that should be just fine for a knightly weapon. The wrapping on the grip is the only thing that makes it look eastern, but that's such a minor nitpick from me. Could easily just say your dude wrapped it in a "Scars" style. Bitchin pose and model for sure.
