I've had some time with it now, mostly just playing the Techmarine himself as I really do not give a fuck about another joint chaos mission where you babysit the Dreadnoughts dumpy AI. Besides its apparently bugged anyway.
Techmarine is... ok? Idk. The pieces are there but they don't fit well. Like the servo gun is a great concept, letting you keep swinging or shooting while the servo does the gunstrikes automatically, but that's not how it works. You still need to activate it which is incredibly awkward, and sometimes you do a normal one for seemingly no reason which can fuck you if you've gotten into the rhythm of staying mobile while the servo does the strike. It should just be an automatic thing. Soon as you have a gunstrike available it should take the shot without your input. Idk why it's not like this.
The turrets are weird. They increased the amount of places they can spawn, I've seen one in almost every zone of every mission I've played. They do good damage if they can focus on something, otherwise they just kinda spray and pray and get disabled in a couple seconds from my experience so far. But I'm still low level, and also don't care much for this gimmick anyway. Maybe if the sentry was like some sort of call in, or a little follower you had to repair every so often, but as is it's just there. Probably be pretty nice for Siege when they eventually make it available there, because of course it's not.
The Omnissiah Axe is kinda ass to me. It has so much forward momentum on its light combos you can easily get yourself in a shit spot. It's charging run is something that would be better as a Bulwark ability, and it's finishing piercing strike sometimes doesn't work. Looks good and it's executions are slick, and the combos themselves are fine. It's just really fucking slow and moves you around too much.
The Techmarine was rushed so hard he doesn't even have dialog for anything other than the newest mission. So if you do any of the others, whenever it would be the Techmarine(you) speaking, it's one of the others instead. He has banter with the other marines and the generic chatter, but no mission related dialog outside the newest one. And like I said before, he's got the least amount of customization despite Saber saying they'd have it all ready by the time the patch was out.
Some other stuff I noticed was the goofy fuck up with the Imperial Fist and Blood Angels Champion pauldrons. All people wanted was to be able to change the trim color, and for the outlines on the chalice and blood drops to stay gold for the BA pauldron. That's it. But such a simple ask is too much for their Spaghetti code.
They claimed the Heavy now has access to the Dark Angels and Black Templars champion shoulders, but ges had access to them since they split them into individual pieces. That reeks of not knowing what's in your fuckin game already, which is just sad.
They also claimed to have added the belt accessories back to the white scars champion breastplate for the tactical, but they actually removed them entirely for every class that could use it. So now it's just the belt, the buckle and the tassels. Good job.
None of the other various little issues I've noticed with the cosmetics that have been there for months have been fixed. I've even sent a few reports in about them over that time.
A couple of the vanilla pieces had their color assignments fucked with too. For example the Tactical has a left pauldron with a tilt shield on it. This shields color is now tied to the pauldrons face color, whereas before it mirrored your breastplates color. Weird.
Oh and you have to spend 400 accolades if you want the ability to swap the classes vanilla heads and voices around. They couldn't just add that in as a freebie. Gotta grind for it.
